I was gagged and carried through the woods. It was dark and I couldn’t see much. I tried to scream, but I was gagged so just muffled noise came out. Eventually I stopped trying to yell because I was tired and my throat started to hurt. I sighed and went limp. I could at least make it difficult for them. I heard the man grunt.
“Damn. This girl is the most difficult Were I have ever dealt with.” The voice sounded familiar. This was Grey’s pack for sure. They still thought I was a werewolf, but eventually they would see that I am just a human. And when they figured that out, Grey would use this information to his full advantage. I knew Grey—he was an opportunist.
I had no idea how long I was carried, but it was light out when they stopped walking. I was then set down. I took in my surroundings. There wasn’t much in this little area. A few cabins that looked abandoned, but they were livable. There was a fire pit in between the two cabins and a group of men sitting around it.
“Hello again Calla.” Grey says stepping in front of me. I glare at him. I was angry. I thought I was safest with Daniel, but I always seemed to be getting in trouble. I wish I wasn’t some measly human. I wanted to be stronger—I wanted to take care of myself.
“Why can’t you just leave me alone. I have nothing to offer.” I say. We all knew that wasn’t true, but it couldn’t hurt to say. Grey laughs.
“I thought I lost you for good, but I was able to beat some valuable information out of my son. My worthless son.” Grey said. I hoped that Victor was okay. I was a little upset that he told them, but they were beating it out of him. It wasn’t his fault.
“Let’s get you inside. I bet you are tired.” Grey says. I am picked up roughly and taken into a cabin. It was simple. There were two cots on each side and a random chair. One dresser, a bathroom and a very small kitchen. They sat me down on one of the cots and cut the ropes. I rub my hands.
“Daniel will find you and he will kill you!” I shout at Grey and everyone else who was in the room. Grey laughed and then everyone else laughed along with him.
“So that is your Alpha’s name?” Grey pondered that thought. I wondered what Victor told Grey. Did he tell them everything? Or just where I was?
“I hear your Alpha doesn’t let the female wolves shift…that must be unbearable.” Grey stated. I wouldn’t know because I was no wolf—just a human. I just glare at him. I had to make them think that I was a werewolf. If they found that I was a human…I do not even know what they would do.
“You must be hungry. There is meat and more meat.” Grey says. I shake my head. I didn’t want anything from him. All I wanted was to go back to Daniel/
“Just leave me alone.” I say quietly. Grey grabs an old chair and sits on it across from me.
“Well we can talk then.” Grey says and snaps his fingers. The other men in the little cabin clear out. I cross my arms over my chest.
“I am not saying anything so have fun sitting in silence.” I spit at him and Grey squints his eyes. Then he laughs and I watch his wrinkles crinkle on his face.
“You are one she-wolf…an alpha’s mate. I have never met someone quite like you.” Grey says. We stare at each other for a while and he puts his head to the side. “Why didn’t you go running with your pack? You sure looked dressed for the occasion.” He tells me. I looked down because I was not going to tell him a thing. When I didn’t say anything for a while, Grey grabbed my wrists and started squeezing hard. I cried out and he raised a brow. I was a human and he was going to break my wrist.
