I was waiting for the wolf that I had come to have feelings for to somehow respond to me. The tension in the air was thick and I just wanted to know what was going on. Gabe was attacked and that was where I drew the line. I didn’t want anyone else to get hurt. Next time it could be my brothers and I wouldn’t want that at all.

The wolf looks at me with sad eyes and then suddenly another wolf just pops out of the forest. This wolf was a grey color and it had the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. They both looked at each other and it seemed like they were having their own conversation or something like that. The one with blue eyes looks up at me and growls. I stand my ground all though my knees were shaking and I glare at the beast. I can see somewhat pride in my wolf’s eyes.

“I want to know what is going on. You two are werewolves aren’t you?” I say in form of question though I already knew the answer. They both looked at each other with wide eyes and then suddenly they just started walking off. Angry, I followed after them. Who did they think they were just leaving me hanging like this? The wolf that I knew kept looking back at me and I kept following until we were deep in the woods. That is when they started running.

“Hey!” I yelled and I then took off running. I was getting pissed and they didn’t know that they we’re dealing with a fast runner. I was able to see them ahead in the distance, but I was losing them. I ran and ran, but I lost them and now I was completely lost. I bent over with my hands on my knees breathing in and out trying to regulate my breathing. When I was finally calmed down, I turned and looked around. I can’t even remember where I came from or anything. I put my hand on my head. How could I be so stupid!? I trusted a wolf and I followed one out into the wood that was at least three miles from my goddamn village.

I took a seat on one of the logs for a few minutes before I started pacing again. I had no idea how I was going to get back. My father never taught me how to get back to the village or anything like that…but he did teach me how to track animals. If I could find the wolf, I could make him take me back to the village and then I would kill him for doing this to me! Alec is probably flipping out by now and he will probably get my father! I can’t believe this. I really was stupid. I got up and decided to start walking again. I purple cloak was keeping me pretty warm but I could still feel the cold trying to creep up in my bones.

I heard the growls and howls before I saw the wolves. There were at least ten of them. They were all surrounding me and I stopped walking. They were going to kill me. I just knew this was why the wolf was being nice to me. He wanted to gain my trust. He knew that I was the chiefs daughter so he wanted to kill me to get at my father—to start a war.

“What do want with me?” I yelled. The wolves stayed silent, but one stepped forward. I recognized my wolf—the wolf that I trusted. I glared at the animal. I pulled out the knife that was given to me by Alec. I held it with conviction and I tried not to look scared. All the other wolves looked a little on edge when I pulled the dagger out.

Then the craziest thing happened. Something that I have never seen before. My eyes that once saw a wolf was now looking at a man. A gorgeous looking man with beautiful blue eyes and dark as night hair. He was wearing something that looked like I would wear—clothes from the old days before my ancestors time. The style was pretty timeless, but villages preferred that you wore dresses and what not.

“What the…I was right!” I say putting my dagger down just a bit. The man has a hint of a smile on his face and my knees go weak. His face had sharp angular features and I could not stop staring at his eyes.
