Father

            I woke up with a pair of arms around me and I could have not felt more comfortable. Sleeping next to Daniel and waking up next to him was one of the best feelings. Although we didn’t end on the greatest note last night, I still loved him and was happy he was lying with me. I turn to my other side so I am facing him. His beautiful eyes are already open and looking into my purple ones.

            “Morning love.” He says to me and then kisses my forehead. I smiled even though I knew that today was the day I would be going back to the village. I had to make sure that everyone in the village was convinced that Daniel’s pack was good and that they would protect the village from anyone else getting hurt or killed. 

            “Morning.” I say quietly. We lay there gazing at each other for a while. “Did Pinto finish everything?” I asked when curiosity got the best of me. I wanted to know. Daniel nodded.

            “Yes. Everything is ready.” He said with a slight frown. Was he nervous? I could never imagine Daniel being that way. He was always pretty confident in himself and his pack—our pack.

            “Are you nervous?” I ask him. He looks at me.

            “Nervous, scared and every other emotion there is. You know, all this is possible because of you Calla.” Daniel tells me. Everything that the shaman and the mermaid said to me was true so far. I was the one that was making this all happen but I just needed to pull it off.

            “I hope everything works out.” I say biting my lip. I desperately needed everything to work out. Daniel and his pack were becoming my family but I missed Cole, Alec and both my parents. I would never forgive my dad at the moment, but I still missed him.

            “You miss your family.” Daniel states. He knew what I was feeling. I wanted to sleep in my own bed again. Daniel smiled sadly and fingered Mogard’s necklace that was around my neck. “I just want you happy Calla. We can make it work. Trust me?” He says. I didn’t hesitate.

            “Yes I do.” I tell him. I get up out of bed and pull out some clothes to wear. There was snow on the ground now and winter was here. It was going to be a cold one but the cold weather didn’t really have an effect on my newly warm werewolf body.

            “I’ll be downstairs.” Daniel says kissing my neck gently. I smile and nod and then he leaves the room. I get dressed in jeans and a long sleeve. I grab my purple cloak and boots before heading downstairs.

            Daniel, Adam, Diana and a few others were in the kitchen watch Pinto intensely. She was pouring the mix that she made last night into the charms. Each charm had a werewolf made of silver and had hallow bodies so Pinto could put the mix in there. When she was done she handed each of us a necklace. I put it around my neck and the charm hung there against my chest.

            “Okay. I am going to say a spell now so I need you all to join hands.” She tells us. Me, Diana, Daniel, Adam and two others names Lily and Carpenter joined hands. I was told that Lily and Carpenter were siblings and very well trained in fighting and hunting. They would protect me well if the necklaces failed. Everyone else left the room and then Pinto started her incantation. She was speaking for several minutes and when she stopped, I felt the charm warm against my skin and then it went cool again.

            “It is done. Remember, if you get to far from each other it will stop working or if one of you take the necklace off it will also stop working.” Pinto explains. We all nod and then Daniel sends someone to ready Delilah. It was time to get going and I couldn’t be more scared of what could happen to us. If my father didn’t listen to me, then the entire village wouldn’t. There was no doubt in my mind that the village hated Sister Jude. She was mean to everybody and a suck ass to my family, or at least until now.  Delilah was waiting outside for me and we were all ready to go, but of course Diana had to say something.
