Nick
All eyes were on me & I was very aware of it, but my eyes were on Demi as she teared up looking at the opened book on her lap. "Nick.... " She whispered, covering her mouth. "This is amazing. I have no words."
"I had help. Blanda pretty much was the creative brain behind this. I just provided the stories & the memorabilia."
"What is it?" My mom asked, impatiently. She nudged me with her elbow.
I looked up at my mom, noticing everyone was waiting for this answer. "You remember the jar I got Demi for our anniversary last year?" I asked the room & they all nodded. "I took all the slips of paper & turned the jar into a scrapbook that she could keep forever. Whenever she needs to remember something good, she can look through the bool." I smiled at Demi, who was now looking through the first scrapbook, trying not to let her tears fall on the pages. My mom perched on the arm of the couch, looking down at the book as well, seeming to be fighting tears herself. "So every slip of paper has it's own page or two. Some of the memories didn't have photographs necessarily, so I would have to get creative. Most of the time I just included a photo of us during that time period. I also elaborated the story or added some other thoughts on the memory." I chuckled.
"Wow. This is incredible, Nick." My mom gushed. "You outdid yourself I think. I hope Demi got you something extraordinary." Mom chuckled & Demi's head snapped up, her eyes wide.
"Oh my God. I got him clothes." Demi covered her face with both hands & I rubbed her back.
"Baby, you got me amazing clothes. I love them. So much that I'm wearing them now." I said as I pulled her toward me & kissed her head.
"I didn't put any thought into your gift. I basically asked you what you wanted & got that." Demi stuck her lip out.
"Stop. I don't care about that. My job is to shower you with romance & show you everyday how much you mean to me & how much I love you so that's what these books are for. And before you ask where you can put them, I already cleared off a few of the shelves in our family room." I smiled at her, giving her a wink.
"I love you so much. Thank you. I'll look at these later when I'm alone. I don't want to bore anyone or...." She looked up at me, her face turning a shade of pink & I knew as she bit her lip what she was thinking.
"No worries. There is one more book at home that is the Xrated version. Well, it's R rated, but I put all those special memories into their own book."
"Thank God." Joe blurted out with a noise. Everyone laughed, then they all started opening other gifts, while Demi kept looking at her books. Once she finished one book, she'd pass it to someone else to look at. I got so much praise in that one evening, that I was feeling pretty sure of myself when we got home that night.
It didn't take long to get the kids into bed since they were exhausted from the last two days of Christmas chaos. I wasn't exactly tired, but I saw Demi yawn when we closed Mercy's door. I scowled at her & sighed. "You're gonna fall asleep aren't you?"
She sucked in her breath & widened her eyes as she shook her head, emphatically. "I'm going to drink a cup of coffee & then...." She walked toward me & lowered her voice. "I am going to show you just how much I loved my Christmas present." She ended her sentence with a soft kiss as her hand reached around me to pat my ass.
I licked my lips as I watched her walk around me & head downstairs. I took in a deep breath, feeling myself get warm all over, then a moment later I headed after her. When I got to the kitchen, she was pulling two mugs from the cupboard. I watched her ass as she stretched her body to reach them. I could not wait to get her naked later. "Here, baby." I took a step forward & helped her grab the mugs. She gave me a grateful smile then turned to walk to the coffee maker.
