I decided to throw Nick a small party for his 39th birthday, to not only celebrate his special day, but also to celebrate the premiere of his movie that was coming out a few weeks later & to celebrate the amazing things that him & his brothers were doing. I invited his closest friends & our families of course, but also I invited Sophia & Emma & a few others that were in the movie. Our friend, Dave, was recording a special video for the reunion, so of course he wanted to include the party. When he came to ask me to say something, I saw my hair on the tiny screen & had to fluff it up. He laughed & I shrugged. "Sorry. Got to look good for my husband." I said, then wished Nick a happy birthday for the camera, blowing him a kiss at the end of my message.

I had been spending a lot of time with Sophia lately, because her & Nick were doing promos for the movie & when I could, I would tag along. She was so sweet & we always had a good time. I was loving how close we were getting. She really was an incredible woman & the more I got to know her, the more I wouldn't be able to blame Nick if he had an affair with her. I was glad she was at the party, because she was keeping me company while my other friends chased their children.
Nick was having the time of his life at his party, even if he wasn't drinking. I let him smoke cigars out in the backyard, which he was happy about. I watched him, through the window, in the kitchen, as he smoked with his buddies in a corner of the yard. I laughed, shaking my head because he looked like a mobster with the cigar in his hand, sunglasses on & a drink in his hand, even if the drink was non alcoholic.

"What's so funny?" I heard Sophia's voice, so I turned around & dried my hands. I had washed them because I spilled one of the twins drinks all over me.
"Nick looks so happy when he's smoking a cigar." I answered, rolling my eyes toward the window & chuckling.
"Oh... I know... when he would smoke on set, it was like he was a young kid who just scored a pack of smokes from his dad."
I laughed, loud, nodding my head. "Yes. Exactly."
"You sure know how to make his birthdays happy." Sophia leaned on the counter.
