Have you ever had one of those crappy mornings where you get up just on time, and then you tell yourself, one more minute, just one more, and the next thing you know you're late?
I hate my life.
"Christina Leigh Rose, get your butt over here and out of the door!" My mom's authoritative voice pulled me out of my bed and I groaned in despair, wanting to whine like a baby.
I meander into the bathroom and relive my bladder, humming Mary Had a Little Lamb to myself. After taking care of personal things, I walked out of the restroom and into my cozy little closet, not really paying attention to what clothing I was wearing and I left the room, my heavy purple backpack slung over my shoulder.
I gave my mom a quick kiss on the cheek, yelled out a chirpy "Goodbye!" and made my way out of the house, speed-walking awkwardly to the bus stop.
I recieved creeped-out looks and stares but how much did this bother me? Not even a little. Those losers can go to hell, I couldn't care less what they think of me.
Suddenly, everyone turns, and their eyes are met with none-other than Stephanie Snow, the school's most arrogant, gorgeous, bitch that everyone adores for reasons that I would never understand nor care about. Let's put it this way-picture Regina from Mean Girls in your head and multiply by one hundred. See that? That, my friend, is Stephanie.
She smirks and struts over to the sidewalk, keeping distance from us, as she doesn't want to catch 'loserly-ness" and "ugliness". She never fails to remind us this everyday, peering at everyone in disgust. Anybody who's not Stephanie is ugly, fat, and stupid in her eyes.
And again, how much did this bother me? Zero. Nothing.
The bus comes into view and screeches to a stop in front of us. Everyone piles at the entrance, and I almost get squished to death.
"Move, stupid." Ethan Myers, the most self-centered, attractive, and idiotic guy in the school pushed past me. Ethan and Stephanie make quite a pair, now that I think of it.
I nervously stepped aside and let his-majesty enter the bus. Why don't I go ahead and shower him with flowers? His over-flowing ego made me want to slap his good looks right off his face, but of course I didn't. Sadly, the only courage I used to have is curled up in a ball inside of me.
Let's not dwell on that.
I walk dubiously to the back of the bus but somehow ended up all the way in the front. Where the losers sit. Do I care? Nada.
After a long lonely ride, the bus screeches to a stop and I don't even try to get in the aisle due to previous experiences that taught me a lesson. Never step into the aisle until everyone is off the bus. Or you shall die. So, I wait. I wait until the late bell rings, and I don't even care.
I slide into class, my string bag bulging from my hastily stuffed in textbooks, and try to not exist as much as possible. My teacher shows no sign of surprise, not even a trace, and disapproving jots down my tardy. Whatever.
No one even bothers to look at me, and for that I am thankful for.
Like that, my first four periods drag on. Soon, my least favorite time of the day-gym, brings its prescence upon me. Bracing myself for the worst, I walk into the locker room.
The first thing I notice is the stench. Where is that coming from? And weirdly, nobody was inside. I slowly meander back into the hallways to be greeted with the principal, who looks surprised to see me.
"Why aren't you in the Cafeteria?" My eyes widen. I half-heartedly shrug.
Lunch already? What the heck is wrong with these people?
"The assembly already started. Why aren't you there? We announced it just now! Now go before I give you a detention!"
My eyes sparkling with tears, I nodded and speed-walked to the Cafeteria. I scolded myself for being so sensitive, and wiped away any traces of liquid on my face.
I stumbled into the Cafeteria, and scowled when everyone stared at me like I was a llama with two heads. Idiots.
I sat down onto the first empty chair I spotted and folded my legs, resting my head on my knees. I heard a sharp intake of breath coming from my right, and was appalled to see that I was sitting right next to Stephanie, who looked angry as a bull.
"Get away from me." She hissed and I glared at her, not moving a muscle, and simply turned away, pretending I was deaf. Stephanie continued muttering colorful words under her breath, but finally, she gave up.
Ew, I think I'm catching Stephanie's "loserly-ness". Kill me now.
