Ethan's mom was a sweetheart- she invited me inside and baked us some delicious chocolate chip cookies that melted on my tongue, tasting like heaven. I savored each bite, trying not to moan in delight (okay that sounded so wrong) and ate cookie after cookie, licking my lips. To my dismay, the pile of cookies were soon finished since Bubble Boy here-haha- decided to try and annoy me by grabbing a handful and running away. Which worked.
Ellen wiped her hands on her apron and smiled at me. "Christina, why don't you go upstairs to Ethan's room? I'll be making dinner."
"Mrs-"
"Ellen."
"Ellen, I couldn't stay for dinner too, you've already done so much for me. I think I better get going!"
But no, Ellen insisted, and I was forced upstairs, into Ethan's room. I barged in rudely, just to get on his nerves, but then realized with a 'pang' that Ethan wasn't wearing his shirt and my heart leaped to my throat.
Crap, crap, crap.
I stumbled forewards in surprise, and Ethan caught me, hands firmly on my waist as I yelped. Man, what a cliche moment. I didn't pull away as quickly as I normally would've, so I felt a blush creeping up my neck as I ran out of the room.
"Christina!" He called but I ignored him and ran into the restroom.
I took long breaths, still feeling Ethan's fingers wrapped around my waist even though I knew he wasn't there.
This needs to stop.
I decided that I no longer have a crush (kill me now) on Ethan, and nothing ever happened. I felt a burst of confidence that came out of nowhere, and I strode into his room once again, this time bracing myself for his shirt-less-ness.
"Yo Bubble Boy." I stared at him, trying to look anywhere but his bare chest and ended up just turning around in frustration. "Can you please put on a shirt?" I whined, and I felt Ethan's presence come nearer.
"What, you don't feel comfortable when I'm not?" He whispered in my ear, and I felt his hot breath touch my cheeks, tingling. I knew I should push him away, but I stood there, frozen, as he grabbed my waist and spun me around, so now I could see his stupid pecs and abs a hundred times better. I shut my eyes and muttered, "Stop." I opened them to see Ethan's and was very, very disturbed to see his was filled with lust.
"Christina..." I broke away from his grasp, my heart beating so loud I was afraid he could hear it, and was terrified to see that I was cornered. He was coming near, and soon enough, his lips were about an inch away from mine. Ethan grabbed my hands, and watched me carefully, and I was relieved to see that the lust was gone.
"Do you like me?" There it was. The sentence that I'd been dreading.
"Whaaat?" My eyes became the size of saucers.
"Do. You. Like. Me?" I do. Just say it, Christina. I do.
I turned away and spluttered out, "No." I can't get into these relationships agian. I can't.
"But, Christina. Why?" Ethan was now so close, our breaths were mixing and I could practically taste what he's been eating. Strawberries.
My mind went blank, and my eyes moistened. "I-I-"
I could almost taste those Strawberries again, and I eyed those wet, pink lips. So tempting.
Ethan suddenly filled the gap between us, and our lips crashed. My eyes immediately fluttered close, and my hands made their way around his neck. Ethan held me on the waist, and he tilted his head, deepening the kiss. He tasted so sweet, exactly like Strawberries and I pulled him closer, and his palms moved up to the small of my back. He was kissing me gently but confidently, and I had no idea what I was doing. Suddenly nothing mattered. Who cares if James betrayed me? Who cares? Ethan wouldn't do that, Ethan wouldn't-
The door flung open and Ellen gasped as we pulled apart, panting and embarrassed.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! Please, get back to what you were doing." She shut the door, looking regretful, and left.
Ethan looked just as flustered as I was, and he bit his lower lip. "Are you sure you don't like me?" He looked up, his eyes so hopeful, my heart swelled and my mind went blank. I suddenly felt very confused.
"Strawberries."
With that, I left.
