I was so glad that it was Friday. It's been a hell of a crazy week. What was with that Eli kid? I wanna know how he knew my name! He wasn't in any of my classes, and I haven't been around him enough for him to hear my name. I sighed as I put a pillow over my face and screamed into it. Ah, that felt so much better. I decided to get up and to take my puppy for a walk. I got dressed and put her on a leash and we started our walk. It's not often that we get to go on a walk. While we were walking around someone ran into me.
"I am so sorry! I guess I was a little distracted." The guy said giving his phone in hand a little wave to indicate he was on it. He had a handsome face, he had long dark hair, and like Eli he had a blonde strip. I guess that's just the new style?
"No it's fine! I've definitely done that before, so don't worry!" I said reassure him.
He just laughed. "I'm Ant." He said smiling. He had a really nice and kind smile.
"Ant? As in the bug?" I asked.
Ant laughed again, "Well technically it's an insect, and it's short for Anthony."
I turned red from embarrassment. I can't believe I didn't make that connection. "Okay that makes sense." I laughed. "Well it's nice to meet you, I'm Brooklyn."
"Brooklyn? Like as in the Brooklyn bridge?" Anthony said teasingly.
"Haha very funny bug boy." I teased back.
"I've said it before, it's not a bug. It's an insect, bridge girl." He said smiling.
I just rolled my eyes, "Bug, insect, same difference."
We talked and teased each other for a while. He seems like a nice guy. After a while he left. As he was walking away I felt like I saw him before... I'm not sure where. His face didn't seem familiar, but the back of him did.
I continued my walk with my puppy and went home. The whole time I was on edge. I felt like I was being watched, but every time I looked back there was no one there. It couldn't just been my imagination, but I'm not sure. I was just glad I didn't see that Eli kid, he scares me.
I got home and started watching tv when Tiff texted me to come outside, that we're going to the movies. I went outside and got in the backseat of her 2015 red convertible mustang. Her family is rich, so she gets whatever she wants. Destiny was in the front. When we went to the movies, Tiffany and Destiny went to get the tickets, drinks, popcorn and candy while I stayed behind. I heard a familiar voice behind me.
"Bridge girl?"
Is it really him? It had to be. No one but him calls me that. I turned around and I was right.
"Bug boy."
"Insect boy!" Anthony huffed.
"Nope! Bug boy had a nicer ring to it then Insect boy." I protested.
He was quite for a while then he spoke up, "You know Bridge girl, you're actually right on that one." He said, his voice filled with defeat.
"I win!" I laughed, pumping my fists in the air.
"Don't get too cocky now, Bridge." He said in a teasing way.
"And why is that Ant?" I asked.
Anthony smirked, and let me just say his smirk was so hot! Wait what am I saying!? I have a boyfriend!
Anthony leaned in close, still smirking and was about to say something when.
"Brooklyn!" Destiny yelled.
Anthony and I both stepped back.
"Let's go. Now." Destiny said grabbing my hand about to pull me away.
I got out of her grip. "Destiny! I'm talking to someone!" I said aggravated.
"Nah it's fine," Anthony said shaking his head, "I'm meeting up with my friend. He'll probably be here soon. It's fine."
I looked at him, "Are you sure?"
He smiled softly, "I'm sure."
I nodded, "Okay."
"I'll see you around Bridge." Anthony said giving me a hug. I hugged back. When he left he left with a wink.
"What the hell Brooklyn!?" Destiny said pissed.
"What!?" I said throwing my hands in the air.
"That was Anthony Vazquez, he's in the new group, the group with the creep staring at you!" Destiny almost yelled.
What!? No it can't be. He's so nice, unlike- my thoughts were cutoff by a familiar voice.
"Hey Brooklyn!"
Shit. I turned around, and saw what I didn't want to see. Eli and Anthony. Together.
"Bridge I didn't know that you knew Eli!" Anthony said shocked.
"Yeah well, Brooklyn and I have a thing together." Eli said wrapping his arm around my waist.
I quickly pushed him away, "No we don't!"
He smirked, "Not yet."
"Not ever!" I said getting mad.
"So hot when you get mad." Eli said.
Anthony came between us, "Eli, stop. Bridge doesn't want you." He said protectively.
"Okay." Eli said putting his arms up, "I will, for now." Eli said before he left.
Anthony turned around and looked at me sighing, "I'm sorry about him."
I shook my head, "It's fine."
Anthony smiled before leaving.
Destiny didn't say anything, we just left to find Tiff, who was flirting with the ticket collector guy. We went in and watched the movie. After that we went shopping. Before we knew it, it was 10:27pm. Tiffany dropped us off and left.
I went straight to my room and fell on my bed moaning. Bubbles, my puppy climbed on her doggy stairs and came and laid on me while giving my face kisses. I smiled and petted her.
I got up and reached in my back pocket to get my phone and when I pulled it out I saw that there a was a piece of paper in my pocket too. Confused I looked at it. It was a note from Anthony saying to text him some time. I slowly unlocked my phone and put his number in my phone.
"Hey" I typed and hesitantly hit send.
A few minutes later my phone started ringing. I looked at Anthony was calling me. I wasn't sure if I should answer since he is in the same group as Eli. Hesitantly I answered.
"Hello?" I said nervous. Why was I so nervous to talk to him? Was it because he was friends with Eli? It had to be.
"Bridge girl!" Anthony said happily.
"Bug boy." I replied back, confused.
He laughed, "Are you nervous or something? You sound uneasy."
"Whaat? I'm- I'm not nervous at all! Nope!" I said back quickly. Once I said it I shamefully looked down. Cause that wasn't obvious at all.
Anthony laughed again, "You busy?"
"Well not exactly, but-" before I could finish he spoke.
"Great. Meet me at the Starbucks in 5, see you later." Anthony hung up after that.
Great, just what I wanted to do I'm not even sure what he is. I mean he is a friend of Eli, and I want to stay as far away as him as possible, but yet Anthony seems the complete opposite of Eli. He's nice, funny, and respectful. I guess I should give him a chance before I finally decide if he's my friend, or if he's my foe.
I got up and walked to Starbucks to meet up with Anthony. I walked in and he was already there, he was sitting down, his back to me. He was talking on the phone. We were the only ones here, other then the employees.
"I know what I have to do, and I'm-" He stopped mid-sentence, the other person must've talked over him. "I won't. Relax." He paused once again, "I will, just give me a little more time, and either Eli or I will get the job done." Anthony said hanging up with a sigh. About 15 seconds later, I decided to speak up. I didn't want it to seem like I heard his conversation.
"Anthony." I said.
He turned around quickly. He saw me and smiled. "Bridge girl!"
He got up and hugged me. I hugged back.
"I was staring to think you weren't gonna show. I waited here for you for 5 minutes. Such a shame." Anthony teased.
I rolled my eyes, "I don't know what you're talking about. 'A queen is never late, everyone else is just early.'" I said.
He laughed, "Really? Princess Dairies? I thought you would have better taste then that."
I just looked at him, "Really? I'm not the one who knew where that was from."
"Point taken." Anthony said with defeat.
We laughed and ordered our coffee.
"So why'd you call me here to meet you at 10:57 at night?" I asked taking a drink of my double chocolate chip frappuccino.
"I wanted to see you Bridge, is that so bad?" He asked leaning across the table to be closer to me.
"No, I guess not." I replied back.
"Why do you guess?" Anthony asked, leaning even closer.
"Well I-" I was cut off by a loud voice.
"Brooklyn what the hell!?" Colby said loudly.
I shot up, now standing, "Colby! It's not-"
"What it looks like!? Like hell yes it does!" Colby screamed.
"Bridge? Who is he?" Anthony said standing up and getting close to me, as if he was ready to protect me.
"Nicknames!? Are you serious?! Cheating on me after almost 2 fucking years!?" Colby said pissed.
"Colby! It's not like that! You know that I love you! Bug bo-" I cut myself off, "Anthony is just a friend! I swear!" I said pleading going over to Colby and grabbing his hands.
Colby pushed my hands away, and without a word stormed out of Starbucks, slamming the door shut. I tried to go after him, but my legs wouldn't move. How could this be happening! I felt someone's hand on my back. I turned around and it was Anthony.
"He was your boyfriend wasn't he?" Anthony asked in a gentle voice.
I looked at him, biting my tongue so the tears wouldn't spill out.
"Brooklyn... Come 'ere..." Anthony said pulling me into a tight hug.
I clung onto him and just broke down.
"It's okay, he'll come back... Everything will be alright..." Anthony whispered in my ear.
After about 15 minutes he let go, "C'mon, let's take you home." Anthony said leading me to his car, and driving me home.
I went inside and ran to my room. I fell on my floor, crying silently. My hands on my stomach, as I struggled to breathe. The last thing I remember before waking up is Bubbles coming to my side and curling up to me.
