His face was inches from mine, and then centimeters, and then so close I could feel his breath. His lips barely touching mine.
I closed my eyes, waiting for his lips to fully meet mine, but right before our lips met we were interrupted by a knock. My eyes shot opened and for some reason I was disappointed by not kissing him.
Eli quickly pulled away and went to the door, "What?" He said aggravated.
"Can I see Brooklyn?" Anthony's voice said.
My whole attitude went up and I was in a better mood.
Eli didn't say anything, just opened the door to where I was visible.
"Brooklyn!" Anthony said with a breath of relief.
Before I could say anything Eli was shutting the door, "You saw her, bye."
Eli almost got the door closed when Anthony pushed it open again, "Let me talk to her." He said in a cool, but stern voice.
A small laugh let Eli's mouth, but within seconds his face became serious, "Why? So you can run away into the sunset with her again? Fuck no, I'm the boss of her now."
"You aren't the boss of me, now move." Anthony replied trying to push his way past Eli.
Eli pushed him back, "I control what she does now, thanks to you and you're smart ass choice to run off with her."
Anthony said nothing, and Eli took the advantage and shut the door in his face. He looked at me like the moment before we weren't about to kiss before he laid back on the bed.
I spent the rest of the day with Eli in his room, doing nothing. Eventually when night came, and Eli dozed off I left his room and went into the kitchen.
The light was already on and I saw Anthony sitting at the table drinking coffee.
"Isn't it too late for coffee bug boy?" I teased with a slight smile on my face.
Anthony started chuckling before he turned around. "What are you talking about? Bridge girl don't you know that it's never too late for coffee?"
"Even when it's close to 2am?" I said looking at the clock.
"That is the perfect time for coffee." Anthony replied taking a sip of his coffee.
He went back to the coffee maker and poured me a cup, he added creamer and sugar in it before handing it to me.
I took it and we sat down and the table and started drinking our coffee in silence.
"So uh, it's been a while since we called each other the nicknames." He said breaking the silence.
"Yeah I know it really has."
"I don't think we've done it since we took you..." Anthony said with a slight hesitation in his voice.
I didn't say anything. I took a drink then looked into the coffee cup that was half empty.
I heard him sigh, "Are you ok? What's wrong?"
"Yeah of course. I'm fine!" I said forcing a fake smile.
He put his cup down and looked at me, "You can tell me, you know that right?"
I shook my head and after a few moments of silence I finally told him.
I told him I missed my old life. School, prom, graduation, surprisingly enough my classes, my family and friends, and most importantly I missed my freedom. I told him about the dress I've always imagined on wearing, gown my hair and makeup was going to be, even the theme I always wanted. Anthony listened the whole time, and when it was towards the end I started to cry he held me.
As Anthony held me I couldn't help but think. The truth is, is I did miss my life, but I wasn't sure if I was homesick. Sure I missed my home, but what happens when I found a new home?
His face popped up in my mind.
What happens if home wasn't a house anymore? What happens if home was with him?
