I woke up on my floor. I looked in the mirror, my cheeks, stained with black from last night. I can't believe what happened. I relived what happened and started crying. I wiped my tears and stood up.
I got cleaned up and ran to Colby's house. I knocked and rang the doorbell and got nothing. I know he's home. I can hear the sound of his video game from inside. "Colby! Please! He is a friend! You have to trust me! Why would I ever want to hurt you! I know you're in there! Just open up! Let's talk about this!" I yelled. There was nothing. "Please!" I begged. The only thing I heard was the sound of the volume being turned up. I slid down his front door, my head in my hands.
"Excuse me Miss? Are you alright?" Someone asked me.
I looked up, "I'm fine."
He shook his head, "If you were, you wouldn't look like you are about to cry."
I didn't say anything.
"I'm Justin, I saw you from the sidewalk and wanted to see if you were okay." He said kneeling down.
I looked down.
"Come on, let's get you some ice cream or something." Justin said helping me up.
He placed a hand on my back to lead me. He sat me at a bench and left and came back with ice cream and hanging me one.
"I love coming here you know. It's always so peaceful. You get a great view of the ocean. It always helps get my mind off things." Justin said staring at the ocean.
"Yeah... It's pretty." I said softly.
Justin looked at me, "She can speak! What's your name?" Justin asked looking at me.
"Brooklyn..."
"It's nice to meet you Brooklyn." He said.
We didn't talk for a while. We just and ate our ice cream in silence.
"The guy who left you, he's an idiot." Justin said breaking the silence.
I looked at him, face full of shock.
"How did..." I trailed off.
Great, just great. I probably have another freaking stalker. First Eli and now this Justin dude. This is just great.
"Sorry, that probably sounded a little weird. I was just thinking that, cause you were basically crying on someone's porch so I just thought..." Justin clarified.
"Oh okay, yeah well he didn't exactly leave... We just... Got into a fight..." I said looking down.
His phone started ringing so he got up to take it. I could just barley make out some of what he was saying.
"...fine with me. I'll leave now to prepare, while you do what you have to do." Justin's voice was serious.
He hung up and came back over, "I'm sorry Brooklyn, but that was my work. They need me. I'll see around soon." Justin said leaving.
I stayed there for about 20 minutes, just staring at the ocean, going rushing towards the sand and slowly being dragged back out into sea. It always came back to the sand. The sound of the waves crashing, the seagull and the distant sounds of the laugher and screaming of the little kids down below playing in the sand and water. It helped calm me down.
I got up and started walking home when I heard my name.
"Brooklyn..." Colby said.
I turned around, "Colby!" I ran over to him as fast as I could.
It looked like he just got done with his run.
"Your uh... Your friend from last night came and talked to me while I was on my morning run." He said taking a drink of water.
Shit. I'm seriously going to kill Anthony next time I see him!
"I'm sorry! I swear I didn't-"
Colby cut me off, "He explained what happened. He said that he needed a friend, cause his girlfriend and him got into a fight, and you were there for him, and that the only reason why he was so close to you was because he was going to mess your hair up."
Oh wow... I guess I shouldn't kill him.
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have over reacted... I should've listened to you... I'm so sorry Brooklyn." Colby said looking into my brown eyes, with his voice full of regret.
"It's okay Colby." I said looking into his blue eyes.
I'm so glad we made up. We hung out for a few hours before he had to go to baseball practice.
I was walking home and I saw Anthony and Eli. Great. I wanted to see Anthony, but not Eli. I was going to regret this but I walked over to them.
"Anthony..." I said approaching them.
They both turned around. Anthony smiled and Eli was smirking. It looked like Eli went blonde. It's a good look for him, can't believe I just thought that about my stalker.
"Bridge girl." He said.
"What up girl?" Eli said.
"Thank you Anthony..." I said totally ignoring Eli.
Eli put his hands over his heart, "Ouch, that hurts."
"No problem! It was my fault, and I had to fix it." Anthony said pushing Eli aside.
"Well thank you. Colby and I made up! Well I should be going now. I'll see later Bug boy!" I said leaving.
When I was at my doorstep, getting ready to unlock the front door I felt someone grab me from behind and put something over my nose and mouth.
I fought as hard as I could to break free, but nothing seemed to help. I could feel myself slowly go unconscious. The last thing I remember seeing before I blacked out was blonde.
