When Eli laid down he closed his eyes. I stood up to go back to my room but before I could take a step I felt a hand grab my wrist and I looked back at him.
"Where do you think you're going?" Eli said, his eyes still closed.
"To my room." I answered slowly and a little confused.
"I didn't tell you that you could leave." Eli said opening one of his beautiful green eyes.
I just stood there, my face filled with shock and confusion, "Excuse me?" Was all I could manage to say.
He sat up, still holding my wrist, "Are you deaf? I told you I didn't tell you to leave. Since you are a flight risk and can't be fully trusted you do exactly as I say, when I say it." Eli said sternly looking into my eyes.
"You've got to be kidding me. You're joking right?" I scuffed.
Eli raised an eyebrow, "Since when have I ever joked?"
I sighed knowing good and well that he hasn't joked once since I arrived.
"Sit." He said still looking at me.
I did as he said and sat back on his bed next to him.
He chuckled, and patted my head with his hand that wasn't still holding onto my wrist, "Good girl."
I felt like his dog, I hated it.
"Why'd you stay?" Eli said staring straight ahead at his wall.
I looked at him, "What?"
"Why did you stay? You could've left and gone back to your family, friends," Eli paused for just a second before continuing, "your boyfriend. You chose to stay, why?"
"I don't know." I lied. I knew why I stayed, but I didn't want to tell him.
Eli's hand let my wrist go slowly and he looked at me but then looked back at the wall. "You stayed for Anthony, didn't you?" Eli said monotone.
"Why would I stay for him?" I asked looking at his profile.
Eli scuffed, "You like him, that's why."
I shook my head, "No. I have a boyfriend."
He looked at me, "Yeah, you do. You could be with him now." Eli said a little coldly.
I sighed, "I could, but I'm not. Plus he probably moved on by now. He probably wanted to act like a good guy and try to find me for a while, and then gave up and found someone better."
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Eli said getting mad. "Last time I checked that boy hasn't stopped looking for you since you left. Are you really going to stoop that low as to think your own goddamn boyfriend gave up on you and moved on so you won't have to feel shitty for having feelings for Anthony!?" Eli practically screamed at me.
I quickly stood up and went in front of him looking down at him sitting on the bed, "No! You don't get to do that to me! I've been gone, missing, for months, fucking months Eli! Last I checked you last looked at them at least 2 months ago! I've been trapped here running away from Angel." I yelled at him, before the realization hit me. "School is over... I missed prom, and I missed graduation..." I trailed off, with thoughts of my family and friends, "They love me, but I know them, after months of me being gone, they made their peace. I know they miss me, but when my sister left, after a few months they stopped looking. They made their peace with her absence. So I know my family and friends, and Colby have made their peace..." I said softly.
I didn't realize I was crying until Eli stood up and wiped my tears with his thumb.
"I didn't know you had a sister." He said softly, his hand on my cheek.
I looked away, "I was young, maybe around 6 or 7, so I didn't know her too well or remember much. I do remember the day she left, we were going to the movies that day and she said she'll be back that she was gonna get candy and then take me. She left, there a was a note that said she couldn't stand living with mom and dad. They looked for a while but gave up after a few months. I don't really talk about her, mainly because I don't remember her much."
Eli didn't say anything.
"This is my life now isn't it? Hiding and running away from Angel, and hoping that he doesn't find and kill me?" I asked Eli with a little bit of a shaky voice.
Eli didn't say a thing, he just wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into his warm embrace. Without thinking I hugged him back, and put my head on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry..." Eli whispered in my ear as he tightened the grip he had around my back, pulling my body as close as he could to his own body.
His grip loosened a little bit after a few minutes and we pulled back some, just enough to look into each other's eyes.
Before I knew it his green eyes were starting to come closer to me.
