Go Down Swinging

I don't know how long it was. Minutes? Hours? Days? All I know is that it's been a while since Butters left and I'm still on the floor of this God-awful bathroom.

I slowly stood, and turned to look at my reflection, involuntarily scrunching up my nose at what I saw: messy hair on a chubby head with red eyes above tear stained cheeks, on a lumpy, fat body covered by a red sweater and brown jeans. Rubbing my eyes, I wet some paper towels and dabbed my face and hair, returning partially to normal. Maybe I still had a bit of time to-

Rrrrrrrrrriiiiing!!!!

Oh shit, the lunch bell!!

I stepped into the hall, being confronted by a wall of whispers as I made my way to the cafeteria.

"Can you believe him?"
"Typical Cartman."
"Knew he was a bad egg."
"Such betrayal!"

Jesus, whatever Kenny said I said must've been pretty bad.

I walked into the lunch room and sat at an empty table in the corner. My usual table was filled with the hippie, the Jew, Kenny, and loads of people who wanted to help with his 'emotional trauma'.

I just sat and worried about how much worse my life is gonna be.

How far is Kenny gonna take this? How long will it take for him to give up? Is he ever gonna give up? Do I have to be the one to bend? Should I give in?

No, Eric. One thing that you'll never do is give up. I'm not letting go. Ever. They say that if you're good, you get what you've earned, right? Then all I have to do is be good and I'm set!

I took a bite of my sandwich and looked around. People were whispering, looking at me, then whispering again. I just wanted to melt away, into the floor, into the ground.

"Hiya, Eric!!" A voice behind me yelled.

I turned to face them. "B-Butters?" I looked at him, shocked.

He plonked down next to me and smiled brightly. "Feel any better?" He asked, then nibbled on a cookie.

"Yeah, loads, thanks." I lied and poked a bag of cheesy poofs. People were starting to stare at us now, and I feared that Kenny would walk over and fuck shit up for me.

"That's great, Eric! I knew I could cheer you up!" He giggled and hugged me from the side.

I lifted up an arm to hug him back but I soon felt him being pulled away.

"Butters, maybe you should sit with me, Stan, and Kyle....." Kenny held Butters by the shoulders, keeping me away from his warmth and his hug, which pissed me off. A lot.

"But we always sit with-" Butters began.

"Not anymore. " he pulled him away from me and began to walk away.

"Thanks, Kenny." I growled and took a bite of my sandwich.

"What did you say about my mother?" Kenny asked loudly and put a hand to his chest in mock offense.

"I didn't say anythi-"

"Cartman, that is offensive!"

"I'm not even-"

He covered Butters's ears. "There are children present!"

People looked at me and scoffed, and I sighed and put my face in my hands. Just shut up and keep your head down, Eric. It'll pass.

Why is it that every single time something bad happens in a book or movie it randomly rains? I had the worst day ever and it's not even snowing. Just cold as fuck.
