"Alright, so we still didn't get any information from Barry, no money, no messages, nothing. This can only mean one thing; they're ripping us off." Shane slammed his fist on the table we were all seated at.
"What's the plan?" I asked, everyone smirking at each other once I asked. "We're going to kill their asses." As soon as Shane spat those words, goosebumps started to form on my arms. "Kill?" I repeated, all of them nodding at me. "Unless they have the money for us. We gave them enough time." Xavier explained.
"But, if we kill them, we still won't have the money." It seemed as if everything I said was funny to the rest of the gang since they'd chuckle or laugh every time I finished speaking. "No, we'll have way more than that. We'll have their properties. But this isn't an easy job. They have partner gangs and those partner gangs will be after us as soon as they find out we murdered the gang." Liam informed me, scaring the shit out of me. I don't need men with guns after me 24/7.
"So we have to plan this out neatly and make sure nothing gets fucked up." Shane finished the meeting and told us we could all leave so he could plan this along with the second leader of the gang; Xavier.
While I was driving home all I could think about was how the hell I was going to survive this. I honestly landed myself in a deep hole and there's no way I can climb out. And the thing is, I'm pulling Casey into this as well. I know that from the moment she finds out, she'll either want to help or leave me and I'd prefer her to choose the second option. I don't want her or our baby to end up hurt.
As I entered our apartment, I saw Casey sitting on the couch with a bag of chips on her stomach, watching a food channel on TV. She didn't notice me walking in, so I tiptoed over to her and placed my hands on her shoulder, which startled her.
"Fuck you," She mumbled, her eyes focusing on the television screen again. "I'm sorry, baby. How was your day?" I seated myself next to Casey and pecked her lips. "Boring without you, what about yours?" She asked with a semi-smile. The guilt kicked in once I could see the pain in the smile she had plastered on her face.
"I'm sorry for being away so much, it's my job." I apologised, holding her warm hand in mine. She shrugged as if she told me it was okay and stood up from the couch as she brought the bag of chips into the kitchen.
I followed her into the kitchen and watched how she started preparing dinner for the two of us. "I can't wait 'till our baby is born. We're going to be amazing parents." I started as a soft smile appeared on Casey's face.
"All the shit we've been through was worth it, I guess." She mumbled, her expression showing a mix of many emotions. For some reason I feel like something's bothering Casey. Something that doesn't only have to do with the fact I've been away too much since Casey told me she's pregnant.
"What if I ended up with Nate instead of you, what if you actually died that day-" Before Casey could finish that sentence, I jumped in quickly,
"Don't think about that, we ended up together and that's all that matters."
