Read My Bloody Lips*Ch.9*

I sat on the couch in Hayden's and Tera's living room staring into the fire that crackled and danced in the fireplace.All of a sudden there was pounding on the door.

"Its them!" Hayden gasped.He quickly picked me up and pushed me into his closet in his bedroom.He yanked some clothes off there hangers and quickly dressed me in them.

"Stay here and keep quiet! My clothes should mask your scent!One of us will get you when its safe!" He rambled before shutting the door leaving me in the darkness.I heard the front door open and several people barge in.

"Search the place!"I heard Drake's familiar voice bark.

"Can we help you?"Tera hissed.I heard heavy footsteps all through out the cabin as the Dante's searched for me.I held my breath as I heard someone enter Hayden's bedroom.I feared the hammering of my heart would give me away.

And then I heard an exasperated cry.I peeked through a crack in the door.It was Jake.

"Dammit!Kyra wherever you are please come back! I'm so sorry!I never meant for this to happen!"Jake cried out to nothing.Little did he know I was actually listening.I wanted to run out of the closet and jump into his arms but I couldn't do that.All that would be waiting for me was living in a huge house and watching him marry somebody else.Jake was silent for a very long time and then he stood and looked at the closet.My heart skipped a beat at the sight of his blazing green eyes.

I love you Jake.....I whispered in my head.All of a sudden his eyes lit up.

Kyra? His voice echoed back in my own head.I restrained a gasp.

Jake your engaged to someone.We can't be together.You know that.I responded.Jake seemed estatic.He's eyes became even brighter.

Yes, I know that Ky.But please atleast come back!I'll explain everything.He said all chipper.I rolled my eyes.

I'm not coming back Jake.Why should I? All that is waiting for me is to watch the person I was just starting to love go off and marry somebody else.And there is nothing left to be explained.Your engaged.And I'm just a guest until I turn 18 in a few months.Period the end.As I said it Jake's eyes only seconds ago filled with hope dulled with hurt.

But Kyra-he began but I cut him off.

Goodbye Jake.I said making sure my voice held no emotion.Jake's eyes turned frantic.He continued to call out my name begging.But I simply tuned him out.Jake turned and ran from the room.

"I heard Kyra!" he announced! His statement was followed by a chorus of "what" from the Dante's.

"In my head! I heard her! I talked to her! She sounds close!"Everyone dashed from the cabin with excitement. Once their voices faded out into the forest Hayden came and opened the closet door.I started to pull his clothes off.But he stopped me.

"No leave them on.You'll just have to start wearing Tera's clothes from now on we can't risk them finding you.But Kyra....whats the thinking going on in your head?You talked to Jake?You can't stay here forever because now he knows your out there and that your close!"Hayden blabbered.I nodded.

"Chill just gimme a couple days.I'll think of something."I said walking away.Hayden sighed behind me.Later that night Tera,Hayden and I sat in the kitchen planning my escape.

"The Dante Estate is a good 390 acres.We are currently here."tera said pointing to a small red dot on a map of the Estate."and the mansion is here"She said pointing to a big red star in the center of the property."We are a good 80 some acres from the mansion.and their little search party as of 10 minutes ago judging by my wolf senses is clear on the other side of the property.By about midnight tonight they will be as far away from us as they can get without leaving the Estate."Tera explained.So at midnight tonight was when I was going to have to make a run for it.On the map as Tera explained everything to me Hayden marked the best trailes for me to take to get off the property and move on with life.By 6 am i would be long since gone and Hayden would break the news to the Dante's that he had found me dead.Yep we were gonna fake my death. Hayden would tell them that he was searching for me and he picked up my scent.He followed it and found me just in time to see me commit suicide which would be stabbing myself and falling backwards into my campfire.So that way if they asked to see the body Hayden could say only ashes were left.Tera would follow me and make sure I got out okay.She was only helping me because she wanted me gone.

I rolled over and glanced at clock on the mantel of the fireplace.It read. 11:30.I slowly got up and changed into my own clothes that Tera had cleverly coated with a special powder that would leave not a single trace of any scent.I grabbed the backpack which had a bottle of water and a sandwich, the map,compass and mini first aid kit.Hayden headed out to prepare my death spot while Tera scouted ahead to make sure the Dante's were where she had predicted them to be and on her cue I'd leave and she would basically make large circles around me as I went along until I was safely beyond the property's borders.I stepped out into the brisk night air.God I hoped this would work.
