Melina's POV~
"Ohhonhonhon, poor Melina looks exhausted!" I heard France chuckle above me and cracked an eye open hatefully.
"Hey, I'm tryin' t' sleep here," I told him in a grumble.
"Oui, in my bed, too," he told me, and I propped myself up on one elbow to look around.
"Oh, heheh, yeah. Too bad, I 'ave commandeered zhis bed for my own," I replied in his voice while curling up under the blankets.
"What were you two doing zhat would make you so tired zhis late in zhe day, hmm?" France inquired with a painfully obvious ulterior motive to his questioning.
"Midnight picnic, go'way," I mumbled from under the covers. "Wanna seep, now."
"Ohhonhonhon~ alright, alright, I will let you sleep, mon cher. Just make sure you pick up your area when you get up, oui?"
"Fiiine," I groaned, wishing it wasn't sunny so the sunlight wouldn't stream into the room through the windows.
"Piyo, piyo!" A little chirping sound emitted from the bed next to me after France had left the room, and I peeked through one open eye to see Gilbird and Pierre both fluttering their wings in unison with their peeps.
"Oh, hi, you two," I said to them, and Gilbird began to make a roost in my rat's nest hair; Pierre helped him. When they were done they settled down and fell asleep mercifully, so I let them stay because they were being good. Something warm and hard inched its way across the covers and snuggled up to my stomach, but when I looked down it was only Isabella. I stroked her shell absentmindedly and she chewed gently on my index finger before following Pierre's example.
"Piyo~" Gilbird sang.
"Gilbird Zhe Awesome, go to sleep," I commanded in Prussia's voice, hoping that would do the trick. It didn't make him go to sleep, however it did make him a little quieter. 'Thank god... Zzzz...'

"And then I must have been too tired to think straight because I fell into the wrong bed last night," I said to Taiwan as we worked on sketching a species of clover we'd found the day before. "So I woke up in France's bed this morning."
"Oh, my. That must have been... interesting," she decided on.
I laughed. "It wasn't horrible, no one tried to jump me or anything like that. And then Pierre, Gilbird, and Isabella all came and slept with me until lunchtime."
"Ah, yes, I saw Italy pull you into the kitchen when you reappeared," she said while pushing her ahoge out of her face so she could concentrate on her work.
"Yeah, he wanted to make pasta with me, and the kitchen was even more state of the art than the kitchens at Gakuen! It was incredible. I stood there for a while, just staring at it all. I probably looked like a dork," I giggled, as did Taiwan.
"So, how did you get that bandage on your finger?" she asked while using the eraser on her mechanical pencil to point to my left index finger.
I held it up. "I cut myself while I was dicing onions for the spaghetti. It hurt, too! I got onion juice in it, that was just awful. But I got a cool Tweety Bird bandaid* afterward, so I guess it wasn't all bad."
~~~
"Uhm, Mattie?" I whispered, shaking his arm urgently. We were back at the academy and it was the morning after we'd all returned, but I'd woken up earlier than Matthew for once. "Mattie?"
