The hallways were blocked off, the house made accessible and the guests had begun arriving. The wedding hall was ready, decorated and beautiful, all for the ceremony which would begin soon. This was by no means her first marriage, in truth she felt she was married to the man in spirit already, but still the woman fussed in front of the mirror nervously like a virgin bride.
"You look beautiful," a male voice said from somewhere in the room, startling the woman. Turning from the mirror where she had been arranging her chocolate-brown hair, curled into ringlets for the occasion, she soon faced someone she barely remembered.
"Father," she said softly, looking at the man who had left her alone all those years ago, helpless and without guidance. "Why are you here?"
"I can't come to see my daughter marry?" He asked, looking hurt.
The woman snorted. "I've been married at least 17 times before now. And so I repeat, why?"
"Fine," her father sighed. Walking towards the mirror where his daughter stood, running his tan hand through his black hair. "The council wanted me to come oversee the job you have been doing. Over the time this world has been under your jurisdiction, you have had more deaths than should have happened."
Serafina shook her head in disgust. "Did they also remember the fact that most are still here? I have broken no rules that would force the council to send an errand boy to me... On my WEDDING day mind you."
"That young state... Oregon. Have you looked into her future?"
Serafina shook her head in disgust as he changed the subject. "No. Melina comes across a turning point. Her future is too murky to decipher, I couldn't see much more than the next few years. There are so many different possibilities."
Gondwanaland, called Gond by his wife, nodded. "That's why I am here. I need to meet the girl, and see if I can see anything myself."
"Yeah, you never bothered with me before, why start now..."
Silence stretched on in the room as the person standing just outside the slightly ajar door stood processing what they had just heard.
'Alice's future is murky?' They thought before scurrying away

The music lilted in from somewhere as the doors at the back of the hall opened. As the first of the wedding party began the procession, Allistor Kirkland fidgeted as he watched the Maid of Honor, Ancient Greece, walk in arm and arm with his Best Man, Shawn, he cocked his eyebrow at the late guests who sat quickly in the part of the crowd reserved for family.
There was a beautiful tall willowy woman, with long brown hair and vivid green eyes. She bore a striking resemblance to many countries, but not as much as she resembled the woman Allistor was about to marry. Next to her sat a very distinguished old man, his face carved with the canyons of age and his hair a salt and pepper mixture of the darkest black and the purest white. This old man stared at the groom with the same green eyes Serafina had, as if examining him or judging him.
All thoughts and wonderings were vanished when the music changed and Allistor grinned brightly as he watched his two little princesses walk down the aisle, Heather tossing flowers and Ariani ringing a small iron bell, which Shawn insisted would keep the Fae away. And suddenly his breath was taken away as his fiancé, Serafina Chian Uberuaga stood at the end of the aisle. She was accompanied by yet another unfamiliar man, this one tall, handsome and tanned. He escorted Serafina down the aisle with grace as her light blue wedding dress train was held by her attendant Alice, or Melina as Sera insisted.
Finally the couple was united. Allistor looked at his bride as the man placed her hand in his, before they both turned to the officiate... Romulus.
