"I remember how you tasted, I've had you so many times let's face it."

I was by the pond with Alex, the fountain occasionally splashing us with its spray. Some helpful party goers had brought stale bread and upon seeing Alex offered to share. She was currently frolcking among the ducks, throws crumbled pieces of bread into the air. It was getting darker, enough to turn on the street lights. People had begun to leave, it seemed like everything was slowly grinding to a halt.

"Hey, Rosabella!" The little girl was back, tripping over her own feet running towards me jubilantly. I grinned and scooted over for her to join me on the park bench. She gave me a smile that made me want to laugh, how could someone be so happy to see me? I glanced over at Alex, Sam had left earlier to go on another date with his current beau. Catching her eye, she began to toddle over to us.

"Hi Aria," I greeted, her tan face was glowing in the fading light. Her brown eyes glowed as a blush spread across her face.

"You know my name!" she screeched, her voice reaching an octave I thought not humanly possible. I nodded giggling slightly.

"Yes I do, Aria," I said, dragging out her name just for the fun of it. Aria launched herself into my arms and gave me a bone crushing hug this time. I laughed, hugging her back. Alex was back over to us and was giving me a confused look at the other child in my arms.

"Hey Alex, wanna join in the hug?" I asked giving her a bright smile. She chucked a hunk of bread at me. Aria screamed and I felt my mood shoot up again.

"Alexis Lynn Merrick just what do you take me for? A DUCK?" I laughed, grabbing her and tickling her sides. She collapsed in laughter, after a moment became a docile toddler in my arms.

"Sorry Aria, this is my daughter Alex," I motioned to her and Alex gave her a dimpled smile. Aria's eyes became wide and slapped a hand over her mouth.

"You have a DAUGHTER!" her voice echoed in the palm of her hand. I smiled and removed her hand.

"She's adopted sweetie," I told her softly as her expression calmed. Alex giggled and clapped her hands for no apparent reason. Aria and I glanced at each other before following her gaze. Apparently they were still taking pictures for the wedding and the couple had just kissed right was the foutain ruptured. City light danced off the water and the moment seemed perfect.

"Wow, that's so pretty! Rose, can you teach me how to play the piano?" Aria snapped back quickly, giving me a look of genuine hope. I thought about it for a moment. I needed the money, and this girl seemed more than willing to learn.

"Why not?" She gave me a squeal and another hug, this time to me and Alex. Once again her brother was jogging towards us. This time he wasn't angry.

"Hey," he gave me a grin, one that left his face when he saw Alex. My heart dropped. I had forgotten, everything changes when you have a baby.

"DL, Rose said she'd teach me how to play!" Aria exclaimed, her hopeful expression back once more. I smiled even though I knew that I probably had no chance with this girl's brother.

"Um, oh gosh, really? You know I can't make this decision! How about we exchange numbers and we'll see?" he faltered slightly under Aria's gaze.

"Here's my card," I handed him one Sam had demanded me to make when I got back into the music world. Even though I was barely noticeable.

"Anyways, I have to go," I grabbed Alex, waved to Aria, and left. When I got the car, the full force of being silently rejected hit me. You give up alot to be a mom, I just never thought that my happiness would become one of them.
