"Can I get your lips to speak my name?"
----Love Like Woe by The Ready Set
I hummed to myself as the car shook from the volume of my music. I grinned, today Alex was being watched by Sam and my first day of teaching piano. "Love Like Woe" was echoing all around me, and my smiled couldn't be anymore real. A source of income and something I was good at? Yeah right! I laughed to myself, glancing into the rear view mirror. My green hair had faded as I didn't have to time (or money) to fix it. I was back to being a boring brunette.
"Cause I think you're a pretty sweet pill that I'm swallowing down to counter this addiction!" I sang off key to myself. Somewhere off the distance a dog was crying because of my pitch. My mood was high, the doctor had informed me that nothing was currently wrong with Alex. He said worst case scenario is was just restlessness over a drastic change. Oliver was apparently hurting everyone with his amazing come back.
But that couldn't get me down! Nothing can! I'm on a god damned cloud and I'm not coming down for a long while. As long as it can be helped. I was wearing one of my favorite outfits, a lilac top that had several ruffles around my middle, and a pair of jeans that didn't make me look like I was a stick person. For this occasion I had- against my better judgement- worn heels! They were a strappy pair colored the same shade of beach sand. I even took the time to put on some eyeliner and lipstick.
Soon I pulled into Jasey's, and the light summer morning greeted me. Palm trees were swaying in the breeze and not a single white puff ruined the flawlessly blue sky. I hummed a tune as I walked in, saluting Jace on my way, and turning the corner to my studio. This was where all my practice was going to pay off. Aria was going to be here in about five minutes and t he practice would last about two hours.
I would be getting a paycheck! I slid onto the familiar bench, opening the lid to reveal the delicate keys. Soon I was playing a soft melody that climbed the scales, from a dark horrific melody, to the light airy sound reverberating in my heart. A loud knock on my door stopped the song, as well as popped the bubble I had been in.
This was going to be difficult, not everyone picked up on the piano as easily. With a deep breath to compose myself as somewhat professional, I opened the door. DL and his sister were there to greet me.
"My mom wants to get her money's worth out of this, I have to watch," he grumbled, oblivious to the obvious excitment his sister was exerting. I was somewhat startled at this confession, after he shut me down with a mere look, did I really want him to be watching my every move? Looking down at Aria's glowing face, I couldn't help but picture Alex in a couple years giving me the same hopeful expression. I nodded, allowing them to step inside.
"Welcome to my studio," I announced, bursting into another smile as Aria's amazement. Maybe this would be as easy as I thought.
