"I'm beat" Kim said, holding her hand over her mouth as she let out a big yawn.

"Me too" George agreed. "Let's go to bed"

Amy wordlessly nodded and made her way over the make-shift beds, climbing under the covers.

It's been a few hours after the phone call and to stay my mind was still processing it was an understatement. I just couldn't believe he agreed like that. He could be anyone. I mean, his voice sounded like he was about my age or something, but he could actually be a fifty year old man who lives with dozens of cats. Either that or the guy must be extremely desperate, who agrees to go on a date with a girl who he knows nothing about, for all he knew I could be the mad one.

"Goodnight" The three of them chorused when they were all nestled into bed. I quickly pretended I was asleep already so they wouldn't be suspicious of why I wasn't uttering a word. I had been pretty much silent since the phone call. I told them I was tired but I think they knew the real reason.

"Huh, I guess Maria was tired, shes already sound asleep." I heard Kim mutter to herself, I heard the rustling of the duvet moving before it was silent once again.

It was pitch black which gave me all the more reason for me to sleep, but it just wouldn't come. I began thinking about what the person would look like, trying to match the voice with his face. However no matter how hard I tried, It was impossible.

I let out a deep sigh in frustration. I decided to help me sleep I should get a glass of water or something. Using the light on my mobile phone, I maneuvered my way into the kitchen.

Just as I was about to lift the cool glass up to my lips, my phone lit up and began to blast my ring tone. Someone was calling me at this hour?

My eyes bulged wide when I realised this could wake up the others, so without wasting time, I pressed the answer button and brought the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I whispered. After being so close to taking a drink of water I realised how dry my mouth actually is.

"Maria?" The voice said whispering along with me. "Its James."

The confusion that was evident on my face quickly dispersed. "Oh, hi" I replied. "Why are you whispering?"

"Because I thought you- -never mind. I don't know. Look, you have to come over here now, we have yet another place to stake out."

I mentally cursed as I clutched the counter top in front of me. Why now? When I thought I was going to have a great sleepover, I get called in. Damn.

"Fine" I huffed. "Where shall I meet you?"

"Just come to base and we will go from there" I didn't get time to reply as he quickly hung up.

What a way to ruin my night. There's just one problem, how am I going to do this without anyone noticing I'm gone?

Without wasting any time I decided to write them a note, telling them I had gone home because I didn't feel to good. That way, they know that I have not been kidnapped or anything that would cause them to go crazy when they found out I had disappeared.

Without a second thought, I grabbed the keys to my car and scrambled toward the door, remembering to pick up my overnight bag on the way.

The door shut with a satisfying click, I cringed hoping even a small sound like that would not disturb them.
