"It's you?" I said, just being able to tumble those words out from my mouth.
He had also reacted the same way, with his mouth open wide.
As I said the words, his mouth began to grow in a viscous and menacing grin.
For a split second, all the walls I had previously built up, came tumbling down. I was left in utter shock.
"Fancy meeting again, Princess" He said. He leaned forward on the table, hands interlocked like the cliche villain pose. I suppose he was a villain.
It was the guy I had met when I visited the supposed drug house who answered the door. He definitely didn't look like the average boy next door that's for sure. His deep red hair caught my attention once again, just like the first time I met him.
I shivered at his little pet name, not bothering to hide any disgust.
"Its Madison right?" He gruff voice spoke. Kudos to him for remembering my 'fake name'.
I only managed to nod. Still slightly bewildered at the turn of events.
"Well are you gunna' sit down then?" He directed his head to the chair I was stood behind.
I took in his appearance and noticed he didn't look as bad as when I first met him. His fiery red hair was no longer covered in grease. He was dressed in black dress pants and a plain white shirt, visibly cleaner and more appropriate then dirty and battered clothes.
Deciding to take the plunge, I pulled out the chair, wincing as it made a loud squeaking noise as it scraped across the wooden floor.
As soon as I sat down, Jacob leaned forward, getting right up into my face. Well at least his breath doesn't smell. I thought sarcastically.
"What are you playing at?" He sneered. "Who set you up?"
I was taken aback. My shoulders stiffened and once again I found my fingers itching to touch my gun that was in easy reach.
"Excuse me?"
"This is obviously some kind of joke." To anyone looking at us right now, we would look like a young couple in love, this was anything but.
I understood perfectly what he meant. Obviously, meeting on bad terms a few months ago, he may have a reason to believe that his boss set him up or something. If only.
I decided to just tell the truth. Although he look kind of dangerous, I was sure that underneath he was just a bit insecure about women.
"This isn't a joke I promise." I started, wringing my hands for added effect, turning on my act. I obviously didn't want him to know I wasn't scared of him. "It's just my friends kinda' made me come."
I guess my answer satisfied him enough as he leaned back into his original position.
An uncomfortable silence feel over both of us. I began to twiddle my thumb to pass the time.
