The next few days were uneventful. I would drag myself out of bed and to an uneventful school day.
The morning after the sleep over, Amy had called me and asked if I was feeling better. They were sad that I didn't stay the whole night which lead me to agree to have another one soon. Oh the joys.
Each night when I return home, I stare at the photograph. I still can't figure out it is. I know for sure I recognise the person, it niggles at the back of my mind.
"Maria!" Someone screeched into my ear, shaking my shoulders at the same time.
I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed George stood infront of me, hands planted firmly on my shoulders.
"Sorry. spaced out"
"No worries" He paused. "Hey, do you remember that phone date we set you up with?"
My head turned so fast I thought it was going to snap off. How could of I forgotten?
"Oh god, don't remind me" I muttered, scuffing my shoes on the pavement as we made our way into school. George had met me at a bus stop this morning, breaking my mundane routine for school-which I was extremely grateful for. However, I still feel a tiny bit guilty as I have yet to show my friends my house. Is it unprofessional? This is supposed to be a job.
"It's tomorrow right?" I asked hesitantly, noticing George's sympathetic smile.
George nodded, leaving me to groan the whole way to school.

"Hey Maria" I heard a voice to my left of the lunch table. I turned my head and noticed Stefan had placed his lunch next to mine and had made himself comfortable on the plastic chair.
I grunted in return, not making enough effort to reply back to him. Instead, I began to pick at the soggy chips that didn't look the least bit appetising. but I ate anyway.
Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Stefan smirk a little, obviously noticing my glum mood.
As quick as lightning he maneuvered his hand around me and stole a chip of my plate. Before I even had the chance to retaliate he had already popped it into his mouth. Jerk.
"Hey" I whined, pouting. "They were mine, get your own" Even though they didn't taste amazing I was still protective over them.
"Why would I when your's taste so much better?"
Not knowing what to reply, I crossed my arms stubbornly and turned away from him.
"Smile" He whispered in my ear from behind, making me jump.
His warm breath tickled my ear making me involuntary shiver. A few agonising seconds later he pulled back and the right side of my head felt cold.
Thankfully the bell rang before Stefan could torture me more, I was glad.
"C'mon last period Maria, then we have to get you ready for your date!" George winked, linking my arm with his and pulling my towards the doors.
Stefan matched up his strides with mine and turned his head inquisitively towards me. "Date?"
"Yeah" I nodded vigorously making my hair bounce. "Date"
"Oh ok" Stefan hung his head in response. "Who with?"
"That's the mystery my friend" George added from the left side of me.
Stefan frowned, slowing his pace down by a few metres. "I don't want you to go"
My head snapped up to look at him, seeing the determination on his face. "What?"
"Its dangerous, I don't want you to go" He said again.
I didnt bother to reply, yanking George's arm and pulling him in the direction of our classroom. I didn't forget to flip him off as I walked away.
