***a few weeks later***

"This is nice." Connor said sprawled out on an inflatable raft.

"I know, and these smoothies? Amazing!" I said, taking a sip from the straw.

"Mm, this pool is the perfect temperature, the lights are like an indoor sun. We don't have to leave here all summer." Travis added from his inner tube.

We all sighed simultaneously. I laid back on my floating pool chair and closed my eyes, feeling the light on my skin. I heard some shuffling off to my right. It was Travis sitting further up in the tube.

"Guys, I can't shake the feeling that we're forgetting something." Travis said, removing the sunglasses from his eyes.

Connor lifted his head. "Ah, we left the fruit tray on the table back at the snack bar."

"No, I don't think that's it." Travis said. Connor looked at me and shrugged.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Just relax." Connor leaned back, letting his hand fall into the water.

Travis sighed. "Alright, I guess I'm just jumping the gun on summer."

We all got back into our peaceful zones and I let the conversation replay itself. I guess I'm just jumping the gun on summer.

Hm, summer wasn't for another few days. I tensed. Was summer in a few days?

"Guys, what day is today?" I asked.

"June 15." Connor replied.

"Aren't campers suppose to start arriving today?" Travis asked, getting out of his tube.

"Yes, and we're suppose to help any new campers that happen to arrive today." I added.

"Gods almighty!" Connor rolled off of his raft and I jumped out of my seat, careful not to spill my drink. The three of us grabbed our towels and ran out of the pool area, placing any cups or trash on the snack bar and bounded up the stairs. Travis tripped, and since he was in front, Connor and I fell over him, tangling ourselves with each other and what ever is on the floor in the closet.

"Travis!" I scolded him, yanking myself from the mess and into the main room where I threw on my camp shirt and pulled on some gym shorts that were way too big.

"Mia! Those are mine!" Connor shouted.

"Don't care, just put on a shirt and let's go!" I tightened and rolled up his shorts and ran out barefoot from the cabin with the Stolls on my heels. Few campers walked around the commons, but more than there was yesterday. And most of them had bags.

"Connor! Travis!" someone yelled. The three of us stopped to face an angry redhead, which I remember being called Rachel.

"Yes?" Connor asked.

"You two were suppose to come to the counselor meeting two hours ago! No one could find you anywhere! Where were you?" Rachel put her hands on her hips and tapped her foot, waiting for an answer.

Connor and Travis gave me sideways glances before Travis answered.

"We were down at the beach, for a mid morning swim?" Travis said carefully.

Rachel furrowed her eyebrows. "I'm pretty sure Butch checked there. But whatever, just go to your cabin and help and welcome new campers."

Rachel sighed and turned and walked off to the Athena cabin.

"Did you hear about that meeting?" Connor asked Travis.

"No! They must've said something after breakfast." Travis replied.
