Chapter 29

Raven's P.O.V.

I was determined to wake up. I couldn't stand hearing my friends crying and begging me to wake up.
Every so often I would try and move, but I felt paralyzed.
Sometimes I would hear footsteps. It was usually doctors or nurses checking up on me.
Other times it would be friends.
I felt so terrible for putting the people I love through this pain.
I missed them all so much. All I want to do is see them smiling and happy.
That's all I want.
I heard footsteps, and then the light flicker off.
Time to put my mind to sleep. But, I couldn't. I wasn't tired. I've been "sleeping" for almost a week.
I needed exercise. I needed a shower. I needed to wake up.
I really just want to see Ashley, curl up next to him, and fall asleep in his arms.
Finally, my mind got tired, and it fell asleep.

The next morning, the sound of heavy footsteps woke my mind up.
They were way to heavy to be a doctor.
The person sat down next to me in a chair I'm guessing.
Once the person started talking, I knew exactly who it was.
"Hey baby, I miss you," Ashley said, grabbing my hand and kissing it. "We all miss you."
"I miss you too," I responded in my head.
All I wanted to do was open my eyes and look at him.
I felt a drop hit my hand. He was crying.
"No please don't cry. I'm trying to wake up!" I said in my head.
His tears motivated me to try and open my eyes.
I started off by relaxing and gaining some energy.
I focused first on moving my hand. Nothing.
I tried harder. It twitched.
I mentally wiped my forehead.
I felt Ashley's face leave my hand. He had felt it. Good.
Then I focused on my eyes.
No I need more energy.
I relaxed for a minute or so.
Ashley had started crying again. That gave me the motivation to try harder.
I listened to the heart monitor. My heart beat was faster and stronger.
I was determined to wake up today.
I gathered up every ounce of energy I had and directed it to my eyes.
My eyes fluttered open and closed automatically.
I tried again. This time when they opened, they stayed open.

So, what's gonna happen between Raven and Ashley?
What's gonna happen between the other two couples?
I'm so excited to finish this book. I can't wait to see if everyone likes the ending.
I have the whole thing planned out in my head.
