{Emily's POV}
"I can't believe she walked away because of that." Michael laughs as an angry Luke approaches the table. Oh gosh.
"Everything okay?" I ask as Luke throws his belongings across the table.
"Does this look okay?" He places his phone in my hand. Um, not really. I sigh.
"If you like glass in your fingers, it's perfect." Michael laughs. I nudge him gently with my elbow.
"Thank you Michael." Luke says snatching his phone back.
He starts stacking his books as the bell rings. Great, more school. Just what I've always wanted. I pick my bag up as Michael follows me, Luke not far behind. I watch as Michael walks into his class without saying anything. I sigh as I keep walking until I reach my literature class. I turn into the class and find my seat.
-
"Well that's not my fault!" Michael practically yells as we walk in the house. I shush him before sliding my black high top converse off by the door. I set my bag down by my shoes.
"Luke!" I yell to locate him.
"Living room," was all I got back in response. Well then.
Michael follows me into the living area. We turn the corner to see Luke sitting there on his phone. No television, no music, none of that. He's just sitting there in the chair by the couch. I take a seat on the couch. Michael sits closely beside me and wraps his arm around my shoulder. I lean my head onto his shoulder.
"So what did you want to discuss?" Michael says looking over at Luke.
"This." He says gesturing towards us.
"Oh."
I remain silent as I watch this go down. I am not sure how I feel about this. He could say literally anything to Michael right now. I just don't see this going well.
"Michael, if you hurt her then I will slam your head into a window. It isn't being violent, it's protecting. Whenever she needs you, you better be there for her. If you aren't then we are going to have problems. I never want her to cry because you hurt her. If you hurt her then I hurt you. It's simple really." Luke says as he remains calm sitting in the chair.
"I promise I have no intentions of hurting her," Michael says as he runs his fingers through my light brown/dark blonde hair, "I would never do that." He smiles down at me. I smile back.
"Good. Now I will leave that alone unless I feel as if I have to reinforce anything." Luke states.
"Oh, I need to ask you about something Luke." I say as he starts to stand up.
"That is?" He says sighing.
"Someone in my grade needs a tutor, and I figured you could help her." I am trying to avoid giving names. That wouldn't help at all.
Michael looks down at me and smirks. I glare at him. Don't blow this. He sees to get the message and remains silent.
"When would she want help? Also, what does she need help in?"
"Well, Pre-Cal first off. You're good at math so that's why I went to you. She could probably just come here after school tomorrow. I don't think she's busy." I continue to avoid giving any description of her.
"Yeah, that's fine." He says running his hand through his hair then sighs, "Just one question, who is it?"
"It's someone you haven't met before. She's in my class. She's really sweet, just unfamiliar with older people. She asked me to help her out since I'm associated with more older people." I say nervously hoping that he'll drop the subject.
