Chapter fifteen

Taking a small sip from my orange juice, my eyes flickered from Jenny, to Emily, and lastly to Becca. We all sat at the small bistro for breakfast in utter silence. She caught my glance and flashed a smile to which I returned.

"So..." Jenny hummed playing with the tips of her jet-black hair.

Last night after texting Becca back and forth we came to the conclusion that we should meet up; all of us. Everyone was okay with it except for Jenny; I agreed to do her math homework for the rest of the month if she came.

"This is ridiculous." I laughed, "We're best friends." Jenny rolled her eyes since she claimed to hate Becca.

"How did your parents take it?" Emily asked sheepishly referring to the pregnancy. Becca's parents were the typical strict parents; there were no mistakes in her family. Her older brother was a surgeon and her sister had recently graduated from law school.

"My mum's pissed off." She sighed. "She's letting me stay until my dad gets back into town."

"Your dad doesn't know?" Jenny scoffed.

"No and I want to keep it that way." She looked down at her napkin. "If he knew he would disown me. This way if nobody knows then I can just return to my normal life as soon as I can give this baby up for adoption."

"And what do you plan on doing until then, stay at a hotel?" Jenny laughs rudely so I kicked her shin sending her a glare.

"I don't know..." Becca said quietly her eyes watering. "I don't have enough money for it and we're telling my dad that I'm working with some orphans in Africa."

"You can stay with me any day." I reached out and held her hand.

"My house is always open to you." Emily held her other hand and we both smiled to each other until Jenny sighed over dramatically.

"I guess mine is too." Jenny retrained from beaming.

We came up with a plan on who she would stay with and when. After that we had finally moved on from the tension and made small talk. Sure, it wasn't like it was before but it was progress. Although I gave Becca a second chance it doesn't mean I completely trust her yet.
