Isabelle's POV
We leave Clary's soon after she comes to my room. Clary tells me she usually goes to thrift stores. I tell her that we can go to them. She smiles at me.
Clary's POV
"I like going to thrift shops," I tell Izzy.
"Ok," she says, "let's go to the thrift shops."
I smile as we walk up to the nearest thrift store. It is my favorite store called Nearly New. We head in and I head towards the dresses. I look for the one I saw last week. I find it and head back to Izzy.
"I saw this dress last week and I thought it would be perfect for you," I tell her. The dress is black and hot pink. It looks perfect for demon hunting.
"It's pretty," she says. I tell her where the dressing rooms are and she goes in one to try the dress on. She comes out.
"I was right," I say, "it looks perfect on you."
I pick out a black and purple dress. I hold it up to me. I ask Izzy if it looks good for me. She nods. I go to try it on. We continue picking out clothes for each other. We each buy five outfits. I then buy a picture of angel wings for Avy's room. I tell Isabelle about my job and that I get a discount here.
"So you work at Nearly New?" She asks.
"Yeah I figured it was the least likely place for you guys to come look for me."
"Right because I don't usually go to thrift stores."
I nod and we catch each other up on everything that's happened. She tells me that her and Simon are getting married in five months. She then tells me that she wants me to be the Maid of Honor.
"Of course I will Izzy," I say.
"Awesome," she says then she smiles really big.
"Uh oh," I say, "I know that smile. It means you are planning something."
"No I'm not," she says, "I am really happy. Oh and I already have a dress for you."
"Of course you do," I say as we arrive back at my house. I take my stuff up to my room. Then I go find Jonathan and ask him to put the picture up in Avy's room. I go back to my room to put the clothes I got away. I see Jace sitting on the bed.
"How was shopping with Izzy?"
"It was lots of fun," I say. I grab a hanger from my closet. I go to my bed and pull the black and purple dress out of the bag.
"That's pretty," Jace says, "did Izzy pick it out?"
"No I did," I say, "I get a discount at the store we went to."
"Why is that?"
"I work there," I say as I finish putting my clothes away.
"Oh that's cool," he says.
I open my mouth to respond when someone knocks on the door. I go open it to see Alec.
"Hey Alec," I say.
"Hey Clary. Clarke told me to tell you guys we are going to Taki's for dinner."
"Ok," I say, "Jace you need to leave. I need to get ready."
They both leave and I put my new dress on. I wash my make up from earlier off. Then I put on purple eyeshadow. I grab some black flats and head to Izzy's room. I knock and she opens the door. I see she is wearing her new dress too.
"Cute," she says. I tell her that Jace said it was a pretty dress.
