Clary's pov
Jace's eyes go wide when he sees the boxes full of my things.
"Clary," he says, "why are you packing?"
"Alec," I say, "can you go tell Clarke and Izzy what's going on?"
He nods and shuts the door behind him as he leaves. I stop packing and turn to look at Jace.
"Clary," he says, "what's going on?"
"I am moving out of this house," I say.
"What do you mean you are moving? I thought things were going well with us," he says, "I want to be there for-"
I kiss him inturrupting what he was saying. I pull away.
"You are really stupid Jace," I say, "I'm moving back to the institute."
"Are you serious?" He asks and I nod. He picks me up and spins me. That's when I decide to tease him. He sets me down and I lean up to kiss him.
"Try and catch me," I whisper instead before taking off towards the door. I run all the way to my mom and Luke's house. I give my mom a hug and catch my breath. I hear a knock on the door and laugh. I walk to the door and open it to see Jace. He picks me up.
"Hi Jocelyn," he says, "hi Luke. I just came to get Clary."
I laugh and say bye to them as Jace carries me out the door. He carries me all the way back to Clarke's house and up to my room. He sets me down and my phone starts ringing. It's Luke. I go to answer it but Jace takes it away. I glare at him.
"Give it back to me," I say.
"Why should I?"
"If you don't give it back then I won't move back to the institute," I say. He gives it back and I stand up.
"Where are you going?" He asks me. I laugh as I walk towards the door.
"Relax Jace," I say, "I am just going to go call Luke back. I will be back up in a few minutes. Then you can help me finish packing."
He nods and I head to Clarke's room. She is in there packing as Izzy is telling her about when her and Simon first met. They look at me when I walk in and I explain what happened.
"I am calling Luke and I want you to hear the conversation," I say. They nod and I dial Luke's number. I put it on speaker and he answers on the first ring.
"Hey Clary," he says.
"Hey Luke," I say, "what's up?"
"What was going on earlier with you and Jace?"
"I told him I am moving back to the institute and he got really happy. I then decided to tease him. I went to kiss him but told him to catch me instead. Then I ran out the door to your house," I explain to him.
"Okay," he says, "how's Avy?"
"She is good," I say, "you know that you and Mom can come see her."
"I know," he says. I hear whispering on the other end.
"Clary," my mom says.
"Hey Mom," I say.
"Luke and I are going to stop by in an hour to visit," she says.
"That's fine," I say. That's when I feel someone start to tickle me.
"JACE," I say, "Mom I will talk to you when you get here."
I hang up and turn to glare at Jace. He begins to slowly back away. He turns and runs but I catch up and jump on his back.
"You will pay for that Jace Herondale," I whisper.
He freezes and I laugh as he takes me to my room. He sets me down and I go back to packing. He helps me and by the time the doorbell rings I am closing the last box. I run downstairs and open the door. I throw my arms around my mom.
"Hey Mom," I say before giving Luke a hug.
Avy who has been walking more comes toddling over. She stops beside me, looks up, and sees who is here.
"Jojo," she says, "Wolfy."
Luke looks confused. My mom laughs and picks her up.
"She calls Mom Jojo instead of Jocelyn," I explain to Luke, "and she calls you Wolfy because you are a werewolf."
Luke nods and Jace comes up behind me. I only know it is Jace because he wraps his arms around me. I smile and Luke looks at us. Then he clears his throat which makes me frown.
"Clary can I talk to you alone?" Luke asks me.
"Sure Luke," I say, "let's go to the basement."
He nods and I lead the way. I push the weapons out of the way and pull the futon towards the middle of the room. We sit down and he clears his throat again.
I am trying to update on schedule guys but with school it is a little harder. Here is what I can do:
A)update on time with chapters that are 300 words or less
Or
B) update every other week with chapters that are more than 1,000 words
