Clary's POV
We talk as she finishes her make up. When she is done we go downstairs where everyone is waiting.
"We are just going to Taki's," Alec says.
"We wanted to wear our new dresses," Izzy says.
"Let's just go," Clarke says. We leave and I walk the slowest. Jace slows down to talk to me.
"You look beautiful," he says.
"Thanks," I say.
"Yup," he says, "your mom is watching Avy while we go out to eat."
"Ok," I say.
Jace's POV
When Clary and Izzy come downstairs my mouth almost flies open. Clary looks beautiful. I think she wore that dress on purpose. We leave and Clary walks really slow. I slow down so I am walking by her. We talk a little.
"Don't worry I had Clarke take a video of her eating her cake on her first birthday while I sat by trying to get her to eat it," Clary says.
"Can I see it when we get back to your house?" I ask her.
"Yeah," she says as we arrive at Taki's.
We see Kaelie and Clary and Clarke runs over to her. They start talking and the rest of us walk over to them. They laugh and when I get near them Kaelie gives me a dirty look. She has been doing that since Clary left us. Now I can guess why. Clary whispers something in Kaelie's ear and Kaelie nods. We go sit down.
"What was that about?" Alec asks.
"Kaelie is one of Clarke's best friends," Clary says, "so Kaelie has been over a lot. She has helped with Avy too."
"Ok," Alec says. Kaelie comes over with a bunch of food. She starts passing it out. She hands me two bowls.
"Tomato soup and mangoes for Jace," she says and she smiles and walks away.
"How did she know what to get us?" Isabelle asks.
"I remembered what each of you guys liked before," Clary says.
"I only told one person that I liked mangoes and tomato soup," I say.
"Simon told me Jace," Clary says, "and it was kind of obvious that you like mangoes."
"Oh," I say and she starts to laugh. I smile at the thought that I keep making her laugh.
