It's been months since Y/n's death. Everyone is devastated. The Avengers are just a shadow of their former selves.

Yet Ivan is dead. Natasha made sure of it by putting a bullet through his skull, well after she'd beaten him badly. He was probably already dead before the shot to the head.

The other Hydra agents are dead too; only Zemo is still alive. He's under review by S.H.I.E.L.D. , they want him to work for them. He was genuinely saddened to hear of Y/n's death.

Director Fury and Agent Hill were doing their best to keep their heads up and keep the Avengers on the right path, keeping them afloat. But it wasn't easy.

Thor, who was absent during the incident, immediately returned to Asgard upon hearing the news.

Clint went straight home, taking Natasha with him for a while, not wanting to leave her alone.

Bucky has regained some of his memory and is doing his best to honor the memory of his late friend. He's training with Steve, who is also deeply affected by her death. They're there for each other. Sam has become friends with Bucky, and the three of them spend a lot of time together.

Bruce is his usual self. He feels guilty for not finding a solution before it was too late. He also feels foolish for having been so unwelcoming when Y/n arrived. Yes, he was jealous, but that's no excuse.

Now we come to the two worst ones.

Natasha first. Her heart is broken; she's never felt this much pain in her life, even though she has no physical injuries. She regrets the time lost; she often thinks back on the only two kisses you shared. She wasn't ready for it to end so soon. She would have liked to kiss you more often, talk to you, laugh with you, take you on a real first date, give you a taste of something resembling a normal life. That thought still breaks her heart, the fact that you never had a single second of normalcy in your life. She blames herself for not saving you sooner; she blames herself for not stopping you before you hurt everyone. She resents you for giving up so easily, for abandoning her. And she blames herself for resenting you. Every day she wonders if you were ever happy, even for a moment, among them, with her. Almost nothing had happened between you two, and yet she knew she'd fallen for you.

Tony is in the worst shape right now. He's not eating anymore, and he won't talk to anyone. Not even Pepper can help him. He's angry at S.H.I.E.L.D. for sending you on such a dangerous mission without warning them, he's angry at Bruce for helping him create such a dangerous weapon with the power to kill you, he's angry at Steve for not fighting hard enough, he's angry at Bucky for all the harm he might have caused you, he's angry at Clint and Thor for not being able to do anything, and he's angry at Natasha for telling him to press the button. They argued about it. Harsh words were exchanged, and yet none of them is angry with the others. At the end of their discussion, they both broke down in tears. But in reality, Tony blames himself, he's the one who created that weapon; he's the one who didn't give you enough trackable devices when you were kidnapped; he's the one who developed the restraint bracelets you were wearing; and above all, he's the one who killed you. It's his fault; he knows it, and he'll never get over it.

Is it really how it was supposed to end ? Not a happy ending ?

No, of course not. It couldn't be right ?

Indeed, that's not the end. That's not even what happened. I mean you died but who said they were gonna give up ?

Come on, just think a bit more into this. It can't stop here. That would be unfair.

So, forget what you just read. I apologise for that.

Here is what really happened after Tony's shot.
