My mom had to buy me a new bed to accommodate Dorien about three years ago. After Dorien and I had our talk after my father died, he went out and told our mothers in no uncertain terms that he was staying with me as long as I needed him to. Our moms did not argue with him after he got me to stop crying and start to enjoy life again. He is now six foot four and all blond hair blue eyed hunkiness! He didn't have to call the girls back, they all seem to have found him and he has taken advantage of it with a vengeance. He has a new girlfriend every week. Though if you are only dating a week, I don't see how you can be someone's girlfriend. But the girl that he is dating for the week always likes to say that. A lot of the girls at school either love me or hate me because I am his best friend. I just stay with the girls that I knew before all of the hunkiness happened and I know that I am safe in my friendships.

I'm so excited about going to the Football game tonight. Dorien is the star linebacker for the team, not letting anyone past him. He has even scored a couple of touchdowns this season. He always has me wear the Jersey with his number on it to the game. When I asked him why he doesn't let his girl of the week wear his jersey, he told me that I was the only person who ever be worth wearing any of his jerseys. Inside I got all super mushy and gave him a hug so he wouldn't see the tear that came to my eye. I still love him so much after all of these years. The downfall to wearing his jersey to every game is that I end up having to sit with the girl of the week. At every game. They are usually nice to me because they know from experience to be mean to me, means that you will be shown the door as soon as Dorien finds out.

There was Mariah Jones who went out with him for a total of two days last year due to her getting snippy with me when I asked her a question about her lipstick. I just asked her what color is that lipstick exactly and why would she wear it. When she looked at me with that eternal stink face that she has and told me that I was too young to know what lipstick and any make up was about, so don't ask questions about what I don't know about, Dorien immediately asked her if he could speak with her alone. She gave me a smirk and walked off. I went and waited for Dorien by his car. When he came to the car, Mariah was nowhere around and when I asked him where did she go, he told me that she wouldn't be hanging around us anymore. Now all of his girlfriends are super nice to me because they don't want to get dumped right away.

I am sitting beside Raine Higgins, his current girl of the week. She has actually managed to last for almost a month so far. I am so proud of her. She is also a very nice person all around. My best female friend Sequoia is sitting on my other side, cheering for her boyfriend Chris out on the field. He is the quarterback of the team and also Dorien's best male friend. Sequoia and I became friends in about third grade when she moved to our neighborhood and started at our school. Since we both have names that are unique, we bonded. She knows everything there is to know about me and I know everything there is to know about her. We tell each other everything. So, I wasn't surprised when she finally whispers in my ear at the game, "How do you take him going out with all of these girls and he manages to run away every guy that you go out with after about three to five days? And she is lasting a little longer than the rest of them, how do you stand it?" "First of all, his girlfriends don't last that long either and you have to remember, I am the one who is wearing his jersey." I whisper back to her, "Besides, I just have a feeling that we will be together in the end. If not, we will be best friends forever and I will have my unrequited love for him." I then put my hand on my forehead backwards and my other hand on my heart and take a deep breath of despair. We both start laughing loudly and Raine looks at us with a question in her eyes. I just told her it was a private joke.

The next week, two days before the game, Dorien came to me and asked, "Would you mind if Raine wore my jersey this week at the game?" "Sure." I answer and start to hand over the jersey. "No, that one is yours. I have another one for her to wear." He said. "Ok." I tell him and look away so he can't see my face. "You are the best!" he said as he kissed me on the top of my head and walked away. I was hurt, but I knew that it would happen one day. When Raine wore his jersey at school on Friday before the game, the whole school was up in arms. Everyone was talking about how he must really like her to let her wear his jersey instead of me. People kept asking me questions about our friendship. I had to keep saying that everything was fine, he just wanted Raine to wear his jersey this week. I was kind of jealous and hurt, but I know that he is entitled to who he wants to be with and I have to give him that. On the bright side though, I got asked by three other members of the football team if I would wear their jerseys to the game. I didn't really like any of them as anything more than friends, so I took this guy named Rob's jersey because we are good friends and he knows that is as far as it will go.
