Chapter 16

Zosia

When we walk into the stadium, it's packed. This is so much bigger than our high school games. I knew it would be, but it's bigger than anything I ever imagined. We walk around and find our seats. We find Ms. Sherri and Mr. John waving us towards the box seats that they bought for us. We hug them and have a seat. I wanted to wear my neon hoodie with the school name and mascot on it, but Dorien gave me his jersey to wear. I was going to decline, but he said something about punishing him for the whole Raine incident, so I put it on over a regular hoodie and a long sleeve t-shirt. I had to bring a coat just in case because it's getting colder outside. I sit down by Ms. Sherri and she tells me that she's going to have Mr. John get us a suite for the rest of the season. It'll be inside and they'll feed us. I smile and agree. That would make me happy. As much as I want to see Dorien play, it gets so cold outside.

I look over at Carly and Rob. He has his arm around her and is pulling her close. He's whispering in her ear and she's smiling. I'm so happy for her, she deserves this. "Who's the guy?" Ms. Sherri asks gesturing towards them. "That's Rob. He's a friend of Doriens. You haven't met him yet?" I say. "Not yet. He seems fond of our girl over there."

"Yea. Dorien said he was sold when he found out that she knows about football and she's cute. Then he met her and I think he's in love with her already." I say. We both giggle. "I'll introduce him to you at halftime." I tell her. "Okay, I would like that." she says. The game starts and is so exciting that we are on our feet the whole time. Dorien does play and I'm proud of the job that he's doing. No one's getting past him. When half-time comes, I call Carly and Rob over so I can introduce him to Dorien's parents. After the introduction, they both ask him a lot of questions and I'm trying not to laugh. He looks so nervous and that's not even her parents. Carly pulls him back to their seats when the second half starts.

They win and we let the crowd thin out some before we go down and find Dorien.

Dorien

We won! I'm hyped and ready to go out and meet everyone. I'm glad we won with my family and friends here. I'm finishing getting dressed when tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum walks over. Dude, we're going to celebrate. Why don't you hang with us?" "My family is here, I'm going to hang with them." I say. They have invited me out with them a couple of times since I met them for dinner, but I've always said no. I told them I have other plans even if I don't. "We'll get you out with us one night." They say as they walk away. Not likely. Another guy on the team comes over. "Make sure you stay away from those two. Everyone who goes near them end up in some kind of trouble."

"I'm definitely trying, but they keep coming back and the coach made me have dinner with them before practice. What's up with that?" I ask. "He did that?" he asks back. I nod. "I don't know what that was about, but do everything you can to keep your distance, okay? You are a really good player and we wouldn't want to lose that." He tells me. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm staying away from them." He nods and we finish dressing and leave.

As we are walking out of the locker room, the coach yells out, "Good game Grey. Keep up the good work." "Thanks Coach." I hurry out, before he tries to say anything else to me. My family is waiting at the entrance to the locker rooms for me. When I walk out, they all cheer for me. I walk over and hug my mom and dad, then I grab Zose's hand. She looks so cute in my jersey. I'm going to have to get one specially made for her since mine is so big on her. I love to see her in my clothes.

My mom and dad takes us to one of those Japanese steakhouses that cooks the food in front of you. We all eat and have a great time. When we are finished eating, we give my parents a hug and part ways. We head back to the dorm and make our way inside. Se and Chris say a quick goodnight and go straight back to their room. Derrick and his date tell us goodnight and leave. We give Carly and Rob a little privacy and go up to my room.
