Chapter 14

The next month goes by pretty quickly and I'm surprised because Dorien isn't here. It may not be as bad as I thought. I get settled into a routine. Dorien and I talk every morning and sometimes during the afternoon and after I get out of school and before we go to bed every night. I went to school, walked and did the senior thing. The cross country coach asked me to join the team even though I'm not able to run right now. I brought Carly along with me and he invited her to join also. While everyone was running long distances, we were walking around the track exercising and getting our strength up. When we got tired of the track, we walked out by where the rest of the team were running and took one of the paths.

Dorien has his first game next week, so Se, Carly and I booked our train tickets. I was going to get a hotel, but Dorien arranged for Carly and Se to have a room in his building, so we are able to save that money. One more week until I get to see him. I can't wait. When we walk outside of the school to go home, we notice a crowd around what looks like Dorien's truck. As we get nearer, I see that it is him. I drop my book bag and run over to him, jumping in his arms wrapping my arms and legs around him. He catches me in a hug and holds me to him. "I missed you so much!" I whisper in his ear, "I thought I wasn't going to see you until next week."

"I couldn't wait until next week to see you." He says. He gives me one last squeeze and puts me down. Carly arrives and hands me my book bag. "Hey Dorien!" "Hi Carly." He says back and gives her a hug. Se comes up behind her with a smile on her face. "Dude!" "Chick!" He says back giving her a hug. I notice Jenna is standing by him touching his arm. "Can I get a hug also?" She asks. Dorien puts and arm around her and gives her an awkward side hug, then moves away from her. She gives a small smile. "I'll see you all later." And walks away. "I bet she's going to be stalking us all weekend now that she knows that he's here." Carly says. We laugh and tell Se that we'll meet her at the house later. She waves and walks towards her car.

We get inside and Dorien says, "Okay, how strange was that? I don't know that girl that well and she's asking me for a hug. She was the first one who came over when I got out of the car. What's going on with that situation?" "We decided to just let it run its course before we drop her. Marne is hanging with her to see what she's up to." I say. "Okay, just be careful. I don't want anyone hurting you again." Dorien says. "I got her back." Carly says. "Let's talk about something else. The thought of her makes me want to puke." We laugh and make plans for our weekend.

When Se arrives at my house later that evening, she says. "That girl has called me about five times trying to find out what we're doing tonight. I kept telling her that I didn't know. What are we doing tonight?"

"Whatever it is, it'll be in the next town over. I don't want Miss desperate to hunt us down." Dorien says. "It's sad when you have to hide what you are doing on a Friday night. If she really wanted to find out what we are doing, she should have called me." I say. "She said that she called you twice and you didn't answer your phone." I look at my phone and there are two missed calls from her.

"My phone must still be on silent from school. I wouldn't have answered anyway." I say. "Enough of unpleasant subjects, what are we doing?" Carly says. "Since we are going to the next town, let's go to that IMAX theatre there. They have a Mission Impossible marathon running. What do you think?" Dorien asks. We all agree and go to the car. When we open the door, Jenna pulls up. She hops out of the car and asks, "Hey, what are you all doing tonight?" Damn, if she hates me so much, why does she keep following us everywhere we go? "We are going to dinner then a movie." I say. "Great! I'll go with you." She responds. I look over at Carly who rolls her eyes. Dorien sighs. "I'll call Marne and Justin." He looks over at Carly, "Does Sam have plans tonight?"
