Dorien
I hang up the phone from talking to Zose and although the plan is a good one, I don't like that she's allowing them to show the video. It will show her in a derogatory light and I'm not happy with that part of the plan. My phone rings again and it's my coach. "Hello."
"Hey Grey. I need you to go pick up Ryan and Larry." He says. "I can't coach, my car is in the shop." I say. "You can't borrow anyone else's car?" He says. "No one is here coach, they're all out tonight. Try one of them they'll be able to go and get them." I tell him.
"Okay. Fine." He hangs up the phone. I sigh. Thank God for preventative maintenance. I don't know why coach is trying to push me towards those two. I think I'm going to have to talk to him before this goes too far.
I call Rob and tell him that I'm going home next weekend. He quickly tells me that he's going to ride with me. He's been bugging me about when I'm going home since Zosia and the girls left a couple of weeks ago. He's ready to see Carly again. I warned him that Carly has a date to the homecoming dance and he can't mess that up for her. He agrees. I let him know what's going on and the plan that Zose has in place and he comes up with another idea to add that makes me feel a lot better. It won't show her in as a derogatory light as the original video. We plan to go home Thursday and skip anything that's going on Friday.
I tell him about coach trying to push me towards Ryan and Larry and he thinks it's strange also. I'm going to talk to my dad about this tomorrow. We finish our conversation and hang up. I go to bed thinking about Zose and everything that's going on in our lives.
The next morning I call Ms. Pam and tell her about the changes to the plan. She approves and likes it even better. She tells me that she'll let Zosia know about it. Then I call my dad and tell him about what's going on with my coach. He tells me to just sit back and see what happens, but let him know everything that's going on. I agree.
After that the week flies by and before I know it, Thursday has come and it's time for Rob and me to head home. Rob arrives an hour before we're supposed to leave. He's really anxious to go see Carly. I get my things and we leave early. With company, the ride seems to go by faster and if Rob has his way, he'll be coming with me every time I go home.
We get home before the girls get out of school, so we say hi to my parents, put our things away and go to the school. Since I know that Zose and Carly walk/run the track after school, we go to the bleachers and wait for them. We hear the final bell for school letting out and about ten minutes later the cross country team comes out and starts running towards their trail and behind them, Zose, Carly and Se come out. They walk around the track twice talking to each other and then run around the track twice. They are about to walk again when Zose looks up and sees us. She hits Carly's arm and points at us. Carly's eyes widen and she comes running up the stairs towards Rob. He stands up and hurries towards her. They meet in the middle and hug. He pulls his head back and gently kisses her. It's just like in the movies, except with sweat and stairs.
I feel a hand on my arm and Zose is right beside me. I pull her in my lap and give her a hug. It feels so good to have her there, I don't want to let her go. I kiss her on top of the head and look at her. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine. Better now that you're here. Before we go any further, Carly and Se don't know about the plan, so please don't say anything." She pleads.
"I won't and I'll let Rob know not to say anything to Carly either." I tell her. Se walks up to where we are sitting.
"Hey Dorien. I guess exercise for today is over, huh?" She smiles at us. "How much more do you have to do?" I ask. "We just need to walk two more laps and run one." Zose says.
