Skylar's POV

I lie on the couch in my secret room. My eyes face upwards towards where the ceiling would have been. Except all it is is glass. I watch as everything comes and goes. Dragonflies and many other pretty things land on the glass. A door opens and closes making me jump. I head out into the main room and find the girl who paid attention in history sitting on the bed.

"Hello," I say to the girl uncertainly. She looks at me in surprise. Her Symbol is green, meaning she is in the green dorms. Tears stream down her face. I immediately run up to her and wrap my arms around her. "What's your name?"

"Li-Lily Mayberry" She stutters. I bring her into the room with no ceiling and sit her down on the couch. I get up and lock the door, so nobody can bother us.

"I'm Skylar, but call me whatever." She gives me a weak smile.

"Can I call you S?"

"Sure! You going to tell me what's wrong?" I ask as I sit down next to her.

"Can I tell you a secret that you won't be able to tell anybody else?" I nod my head. "Pinky swear?" She holds out her finger.

"Pinky swear." I wrap my pinky around hers. I never break a promise. Ever. She pulls off her sweater and I see her arms. A bunch of words go up and down her arms. Bitch being one of them. She turns around and lifts up her shirt. Marks cross all over her back. She pulls her sweater on again. "Can I share a secret with you as well?" She holds up her pinky again and I take it. I turn around and lift up my shirt. My sweater lays forgotten on the floor. I turn around and roll up my sleeves. Scars are up and down along my arms.

"We can be broken together." I pull her into another hug. I jump apart and hurry to the other couch. I drag it over to the other couch. We lay side by side.

"Best friends?" I ask uncertainly.

"Best friends!" I take out my phone and text Ryan.

Me: Staying in another room with new best friend for the night.

Ryan: Okay. See u tomorrow!

Me: See u!

"Are you going to stay the night?" She asks me.

"Ya, you?"

"Ya." We both lay there until the sky gets dark outside.

"Hey Li? Do you want to do an all nighter?"

"Great minds think alike!" We both start laughing as we get up. I lead her to the kitchens. We both head into opposite directions of the kitchen. She raids the freezer and I raid the candy and snacks.

"Li, why were you really crying?" She takes a deep breathe.

"Some boy called me a name that shows up on my arms. I thought coming here would mean that I could get away from that!" Tears well up in her eyes, and I automatically feel protective of this girl.

"Who was that boy?"

"His first name was Tim." I look at her in shock. "I think his last name was Matthew, something like that." I force myself to calm down. "He was with a group, but not the group that he usually hangs out with."

"He means nothing to you. Nothing! Got it?"

"Ya," She sighs. "Let's head back to the fairy room!" We decided to call the room with no ceiling the fairy room. We head back in and plop down on the same couch. I put in Mean Girls while Li gets all the blankets and pillows. We curl up next to each other and watch the movie. Somewhere when she lost all of her friends we both fell asleep. The real pillows lay on the floor as we use each other.
