Skylar's POV!
I step onto the black thing so that I can get to the cabin. The other schools are coming today so we have to meet them out by the cabin. The whole school is going out so there is a long line! I'm at the very back of the line with the rest of my friends, waiting to get through. The black thingy starts moving and I get sling shotted forward. I don't like this thing one bit! We are finally able to get through and out of the cabin and wait in the cold for the other schools to arrive. I turn around and see that there are three new cabins. Each cabin, including the one we just came out of, have the names of the schools hanging on a banner above the cabin. The farthest one right is for Golden Valley, the one next to that is for River Valley, and then ours and then on the left of ours is for Skyline Academy.
"LOOK!" Somebody shouts, pointing up in the sky. I look up and see a helicopter landing in front of all of the students. Soon, a whole bunch of people start filing out of the helicopter, there are boys and girls.
"OVER THERE!" Another kid shouts! A limo pulls up and a bunch of snotty looking girls step out. Another limo pulls up behind them and a bunch of boys step out of it. I look back over to the students who stepped out of the helicopter and see a face that I thought that I might never see again.
"JAMES WESTON!" I scream at the top of my lungs. A boy my age with rainbow color hair turns around and looks at me for a second before recognition crosses his face.
"SKYLAR BROWN!" He yells. Everybody has stopped talking to watch. Even the teachers. I push through everybody and he does the same until we reach each other. He opens his arms for a hug but instead I slap him across the face. He looks at me surprised before I tackle him in a hug. I start crying and repeating thank you over and over again. "Sky," he says gently, "Why did you slap me?"
"y-yo-you left me!" I stutter through sobs, but hug him tighter. He chuckles softly at me before picking me up bridal style and heading towards where I was standing before.
"S, how do you know him?" Lils asks. Since I couldn't answer because I was still crying, James does.
"It's a long story that involves a secret that she may or may not have told you about." There were some mummers of agreement before James speaks again. "Do you guys have a place where I can tell you about it, and I think that I will be going into your school cabin because I don't think that she'll be letting me go soon!" I just shake my head into his chest that was soaked with tears.
"Follow us," Riley says. We head through the cabin and onto and off of the black thingy before heading out of the eating hall. We are all silent except for my occasional sobs that echo off of the empty hallways. We arrive at the paining and head into the room with a glass ceiling and all sit down. I sit down on James lap, not willing to let him go.
"Care to explain?" Ryan asks.
"It was when me and Sky were five," James starts. "So she was still at her first foster home. I expect that you all know about her secret?" Everybody nods there heads. "Sky was able to go to the playground in the neighborhood, so we played with each other. I invited her over to my house one day, but she said no because she would get hit for having a friend. She realized that she had said to much and ran off. I didn't tell anybody because I was scared that Sky would get hurt if they knew. Apparently they found out, so they beat her an inch till death." He pauses and takes in a breath. "I know that because I climbed through her house window and hid in the shadows. My parents liked to spoil me so I had a phone. I dialed the police and told them the address and then told them to just listen. I set the phone down on the floor and then walked out of my hiding place. I said to them 'the police are on their way, so I suggest that you stop' they didn't believe me so then I showed them the phone. They left at once so I hung up on the police and made my way over to Sky.
"I won't go into details, because I don't want to, but it was bad. Really bad. They never caught the people so my parents moved me to Maine and I wasn't even able to say goodbye to Sky. Before you ask, I remember what Sky looks like because you can never forget someone that had that big of an impact on your life." Once he was done, I was shaking in his lap. Even as a five year old, I remembered everything that happened that day. I curl even closer to James and he starts to calm me down. He's more of a big brother than anything and I love him for it. The couch dips next to us and I feel the comfort of Ryan next to me. I lean into him, but don't let go of James. "I think that we should introduce ourselves!" James exclaims!
"Ryan Adams."
"Kyle Shore."
"Lily Mayberry."
"Sam Hacker."
"Matt Hutchens."
"Anna Delamar."
"Riley Brown!"
"Oh, so you must be Sky's twin sister!" James exclaims. The voices start getting more muffled as I start to fall asleep. But I thought that it was still morning? I look up at the ceiling to realize that the sky has turned black. I then fall all the way to sleep, curled up between Ryan and James.

James POV!
I look down at Sky to find her breathing deeply. I sigh and look back up to find the others looking at me. I trust these guys to protect my little sis from everything that wants to hurt her to the best of their ability.
"Do you like her?" I think Anna asks me. I chuckle to myself.
"She's like the little sister that I never had."
"She's just like that to Matt, Kyle and I." Sam says.
"Protective?" I ask.
"I think a little to much!" Matt says.
"Never enough because she will need it!" I say, though I mumble the last part to myself. "I think we should all go to sleep." They nod there heads so I pick up Sky and bring her into the other room with the king size bed in it. I wrap her in a very fuzzy and warm blanket tightly before lying down next to her. The others come in and lie down on the bed. Somehow, we are all able to fall asleep on the same bed, using each other as pillows.
