I went to the lookout like normal that night, but tonight was very special because tonight was the night of the red moon. As I gazed up at the moon, Cindy appears beside me and says, "The moon is really pretty tonight, don't you think?" I replied, "Yes, it is. I have been waiting for this day all month after I heard about it." She moves around in front of me, blocking my view of the moon and says, "That was supposed to be your cue, to be like, "It's not as pretty as you are tonight." I even gave you the hint and everything." I reply, "I may not say it, but you are pretty, especially in the moonlight, the shimmer over your ghostly figure makes you shine in the night, but I'm only interested in the moon tonight." She moves out of the way and puffs her cheeks up and pouts. I look back up at the moon, a beauty that will always be in my night sky. I don't need those foolish attachments to others, as long as I have the moon that is a beauty no one can match. Almost as if she was reading my mind Cindy says, in a quiet and somber voice, "You can't be alone forever, one day you will realize that you are wrong." I reply in a similar quiet voice, "Well until that day, I will do it my way." I start to walk away, deciding I was done for the night and that I wanted to sleep. Cindy stayed were she was and continued to look at the moon and whispered just loud enough for me to hear, "You can't wear that mask forever, someone will find out and when that time comes, you won't be ready the way you are now." I lifted my head up and looked at the moon one more time, shining the light on the left side of my face, which was covered with a black mask, only reveling the eye and my hair. I continued walking in silence and went home for the night.
