So we walked over to my place, I still had my key because I always lock up the place anytime I leave. I lead her up to my room and grab a bag, as we start putting stuff for myself into it, I hear car doors slam shut outside. I look out my window and say with surprise, "It's my parents, how are they both here, usually they don't ever get home at the same time and defiantly not this early." I started panicking, shit, shit, I can't let them know about her being here. I looked up at her and said, "Hey, I'm going to go down and talk to them, no matter what you hear, don't come down, promise me." She looked at me surprised and with a look of doubt on her face said, "I promise." So I left my room and went downstairs. They were both sitting in the kitchen my mom drinking some coffee and my dad reading the newspaper, as I walked in they both looked up at me. My mom gave me a warm welcoming smile and said, "Hi, John, it's been a long time since we were all here." My dad just has the same dead pan stare and just blandly says, "Yeah, it's been a while." I look at my dad and mom and just straight tell them with no hesitation, " I'm going to be moving in with a classmate for a little, so I'm getting some things together and I'll be on my way." My mom looked at me and said in a sad voice, "If this will help you, then I'm okay with it, just don't forget about us," My dad stood up, looking really angry and starting yelling, "WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO RUN FROM US, FROM WHAT YOU DID, she would have never died if you didn't have to try and play hero, she would still be here." He grabs my shirt color and I just stand there. He starts yelling even louder, "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE US LIKE THAT, YOU'RE A MURDER AND YOU KNOW IT, TRYING TO HELP YOURSELF WILL GET YOU NOWHERE!" I interrupted him here, "You know I would take back that if I could, but it's done, I can't do anything about it now, so let me go, you have no control of me." He didn't like that, he pulled his fist back and start punching me in the gut, I just took it because I didn't care. Dad kept yelling, "YOU COULD HAVE STOPPED AND THEN SHE WOULD STILL BE HERE, BUT INSTEAD YOU GOT HER KILLED AND YOURSELF DISFIGURED! YOU STILL HIDE BEHIND THIS DAMN MASK!" He grabs my mask and throws it across the room, where it lands and cracks, revealing my horrible disfigured face, jagged cuts and burns all over, my eye missing completely. I start to get mad and as I do, I stop his next punch and I grab his hand on my collar. I push him away from me and I start yelling at him, "YOU DID NOTHING, YOU JUST WATCHED US BE TORTURED, YOU JUST WATCHED WHILE THEY KILLED US, I WASN'T GOING TO JUST TAKE IT, I TRIED TO SAVE HER, I CAN'T CHANGE WHAT HAPPENED, BUT AT LEAST I TRIED TO DO SOMETHING,YOU JUST SAT THERE IN FEAR LIKE A COWARD AND WATCHED! I'm done, I'm leaving, I don't when I'll see you again, so goodbye dad. Mom, I love you, I see you when I can." With that I walk back upstairs, but stop at my door, thinking it wouldn't be good if she say my face this way, but I decided it was okay. As I walked in, she was sitting on my bed with a sad expression, when she looked up and saw me, she ran towards me and hugged me so tight I thought I would stop breathing. She looked up at my face and saw it all, but she simply said, "Are you alright, I didn't mean to, but I heard everything." I looked down at her and said with a sigh," Yeah i'm alright, this isn't the first time this has happened, lets just get out of here as fast as possible." So we did just that, we quickly finished packing and were on are way, once we made it back to her house, I fell over from exhaustion, my dad did some serious damage this time. She went and got some water and brought it to me on the couch and said, "Are you sure you're alright?" I looked up at her and said, "No, i'm not, It was my fault we lost my sister and it's true that I did kill those guys." Tears started pouring out of my eyes, "I should have been able to save her, It should have been me." She doesn't say anything, but just sets the cup down and pulls me into her arms and embraces me. I say without thinking about it, "I want to die, I should have died instead of her, I don't want to keep going if I'm only a burden to everyone." She holds onto me tighter and says, with tears in her eyes, "No, I don't want you to leave me, I'll be alone then, you're not a burden to me. Do you know why?" I look up at here and say, "I don't know." She whispers into my ear, "Because whether you believe me or not, I love you." I sit there in her embrace to shocked to say anything, but then I start to cry harder and we sit there embraced as we cry.
