I wake up to hear my alarm going off, guess I forgot to turn it off last night. I reach over and I turn it off and slump my head back into bed, knowing that I wasn't going to go to school today. Even though mom and dad both know what today is, they don't stick around, they go through their normal daily routine. I can't say I blame them, I just sit around and mop all day when it's this day. It's no good, I can't sleep, guess I'll head over now rather then later. I stop on the way there to grab some flowers. As I'm walking down the road leading there, I run into some kids from my school and they whisper to each other, "Is that guy going to skip school?" The other girl says to her, "That's the guy that sits in the back of the class, I'm not surprised to see him skipping. now come on or we're going to be late." What I didn't realize was that the third girl with them was the one from the night before and she recognized me and decided to follow me in secret. When I got to the gate, I pulled out my key and undid the lock, leaving it open so I didn't have to use the key to get out again. I walked up to the one and only grave in that part of the field and put down the flowers. As I put down the flowers I heard a tree branch crunch under weight and snapped around, I saw the girl from last night standing behind a tree a little ways away. I ask her, in a calm, but slightly sad voice, "Why?" She replies in suit, "I just was curious why you don't go to school the same day every year." I looked up and said to her, "Do you know why the moon disappears every once in a while?" She replies confused, "No, I don't." I told her, "It's because every thing must end and then begin again, just in a different form." She looks at me, still confused and says, "But what does that have to do with what I asked you?" I looked at her and said, "Nothing, it's just a little saying that I like and I thought I would share it." She comes out onto the path and says, demanding, "Answer my real question!" I look at her with a half surprised expression, not thinking that she wanted to know this badly. I look at her with my cold stare once again and ask her, "Why do you want to know so badly, what are you after, why do you care?" She looks at me, with tears in her eyes and says, "Because I know you are in pain and I want to help, I have been watching you for a long time, always wanting to know you better, but you always shut everyone out before they can learn anything about you."  I look at the ground, as a feeling I have not had in a long time resurfaces, the longing to have a friend, the want to not be alone. I look at her, still keeping my cold stare and say, "Fine, if you want to know, I will tell you, but first a promise." She says, "Promise?" I reply, "Yes, I will tell you everything in due time, but you have to prove to me that I can trust you, so you have to prove your trustworthiness to me before I tell you anymore. If you betray me or lie to me, even once, I will never trust you or anyone again and you will learn nothing of me." She stops and thinks for a little while, finally deciding, she takes a deep breath and says,"Deal." I look at her, with a slight hint of sympathy in my glare because what I will tell her if she makes it, may break her. I say, "Okay, the reason I skip this day is because it is my sisters birthday." She gasps and says, "But the school says that you're an only child and if that is the case, then why are you at a grave stone?" I look up at the sky, as a tear drops from my eye and say, "This is my sisters grave.... and my biggest secret, that I hid from everyone."
