There's a moment before you fall asleep
When you get to wonder what you'll dream
And if you'll remember when you wake
All the things you thought today--
That's what this is like for me
I do not know if death's a dream
Or if I'll float away and then
I will be over -- that's the end
I watch the light above my head
Can I still cry if am am dead
Or will tears be left in my vacant eyes
For all my family to cry
I hear the voices calling out
A whisper than a daunting shout
I want them to keep me awake --
But I slip farther every breath I take.
