Chapter II: War Wounds

I'm going to do short "previously on" of the previous chapters at the beginning of each chapter. I find it helps me when reading a story especially if updates are slow. (Cries because she know no one is reading this)
Previously: Eren gets beat up by some bullies, Levi saves him but Eren is unable to figure out who he is because he was late for class.

Snk HS AU 2

When I got to class everyone stared at me because one, Mr. Pixis is the most intimidating teacher on the planet and could kill you (or your grade) while smiling and two, I probably looked like crap. Although due to the pain I wasn't really registering information very well and midway through Mr. Pixis lecturing me I started coughing up blood. So he had Armin take me to the school nurse.

"What the heck happened to you?" Armin asks as the nurse bandaged me up.

"What does it look like? I say sarcastically wincing because of nurse, she wasn't the nicest and/or gentlest person I've ever met.
What is with the people in this school?

"Were you asking for it, you know Mikasa's gonna kill you, right?"

"No I was not asking for it! And don't tell Mikasa she'll lecture me and that's worse than death."

"Eren! You have bruises on your face and your lucky none of your ribs were broken and she is definitely going to notice!"

"I know, I know!"

The nurse finished patching me up and before leaving the room she gave me some pain killers and extra bandages.

"Also don't forget to fill out an incident report," she reminds me before exiting.

"I swear this school," I say shaking my head.

"So what happened?" Armin inquires.

I recounted the entire story. Including the part how I was saved, making a mental note not to tell anyone else because it would be embarrassing to admit I was rescued by one person.

"Who was the guy that saved you?"

"I don't know, he had black hair, he was incredibly short and now that I think about it he was kinda attractive," I said, that last bit just came out but luckily it was just Armin I admitted it to.

"You mean Levi Ackerman?!" Armin said surprised.

"I recognize that name... Wait isn't he new?" I asked looking expectantly at him.

"Yeah just this year, we have a couple classes with him."

Shows you how much I pay attention in class. Especially at the beginning of the year since they never say anything important, it's all rules and procedures you've heard a million times before.

"Anyway I heard he's an old friend of Erwin and Hanji and moved here over the summer. There are rumors that he was in a gang or that he killed someone but I don't know if any of them are true. He doesn't seem to talk to anyone other than Erwin and Hanji."

That's interesting I doubted any of those rumors were true but then again this guys took out three giant bullies. Granted I had gotten some punching in beforehand but still. This guy was a mystery. A mystery I was determined from then on, to solve.

"Let's get back to class," Amin says, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Oh come on there is like five minutes left, I'm sure Pixis will just lecture me again and we can get the homework from Sasha" I say to him.

Plus math was our last class of the day so there was really no point in going back. Me and Amin shared most classes though he took a computer programming elective while I took a drawing class and we didn't have P.E. or history together.

"Fine, I hope Sasha didn't get bored and eat her notes," he said reluctantly.

That kid really likes school for whatever reason. Also that thing he said about Sasha, yeah that's happened before. Not joking. Armin and I end up just hanging out in the nurses office until the bell rang, the nurse really didn't seem to care.

I walk home alone because one, I don't have a car and hate the bus and two, Mikasa had soccer practice. So I have some time to come up with a way to hide my injuries or at the very least come up with a believable explanation as to how and why I got them that would make her at least a little less angry. My thoughts eventually turn to the guy who saved me, Levi. I need to properly thank him and that would be a good excuse to talk to him. That makes me a little bit excited about going to school tomorrow, I didn't even know it was possible to make me want to go to school even a little bit.
