Chapter XIX: Valentine's Day

Previously: Operation shipping has been a success so far for Hanji and just in time for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day is coming up and Levi said he is going to take care of the date arrangements. This surprised me because I've always been the one who sets up our dates. Not that I'm not happy, it's like we've taken another step in our relationship. I'm just curious as to what he has planned.

Today is actually February 13th and it is Friday so I've been paranoid all day. I'm not superstitious, I'm just cautious and since tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I don't want to mess anything up. Not that I think there is anything to mess up but you never know. Since I don't know how tomorrow is going to go I'm extremely nervous. What if I screw up his date plan? What if we die suddenly? What if he breaks up with me?

I pace around the room trying to calm myself. I decide to text Armin.

Eren: So r u and Erwin doing something for Valentine's Day?

Armin: Yeah I guess

Eren: You guess?

Armin: You know, we've gone on a couple dates but he hasn't asked me to, u know, be his boyfriend yet. We r obviously going on another one tomorrow but I don't know

Eren: What is the problem? He obviously likes u a lot just give him some time

Armin: I'm not sure about this, he is just so much cooler than me

Eren: Not true and u like him right?

Armin: Yeah I guess

Eren: Then u have nothing to worry about!

Armin: Yeah okay

Eren: If anything u could just ask him

Armin: No way in heck

Eren: Cone on if ur that nervous u might as well

Armin: Yeah no thank u

Eren: Alright buddy:) Again if he doesn't treat you right make sure u tell me and I'll kill him for u

Armin: Okay Eren

I could feel the sarcasm through the phone. I continue to text him about random stuff until he decides he needs to work on homework. Which I should be doing but I rather mess around on YouTube to be perfectly honest. About a hour later I get another text, it's from Levi.

Levi: Tomorrow I'll pick u up at six, dress warm, casual but nicer than normal

Eren: Okay u aren't going to tell me what we're doing r u?

Levi: Nope

Eren: Ugh I won't last until tomorrow

Levi: I guess you'll never know then

Eren: Oh hush

I smile to myself and my anticipation of what is to come increases even more.

It is five minutes to six and I'm waiting anxiously in the living room.

"Calm yourself Eren, stop being so nervous," Mikasa says walking into the room.

"I'm not nervous I'm just excited," I say. "Never mind me what are you doing tonight?"

"Going to Annie's."

"That's cool," I say grinning at her.

She glares at me and then the door bell rings. I go and open it and greet Levi.

"Bye 'Kasa!" I yell.

"Bye Eren, be safe," she calls back.

I walk out the door with Levi. We get into Erwin's car.

"What car is Erwin using?" I ask him.

"His parent's," he responds.

"Okay," he starts the car and we drive a couple minutes and I ask. "So, where are we going?"

"Patience," he says.

I squirm I'm my seat, frustrated and Levi notices this and gives me a small amused smile. We drive to the same park on Maria road that we went to on our first date. We get out of the car and start walking down the same path we took the first time. The park is situated at the edge of the city and is connected to an even bigger, denser forest.

We follow the normal path until Levi leads me off on a less used path. I was going to object but I trust him, although I am pretty sure Shia Labeouf is going to jump out of the bushes anytime now. We go until the path ends at a cliff, you can see a small river and there are hills surrounding the valley like giant walls. Levi gets out a blanket and some containers of food from a satchel he had been carrying. We sit down and the sun starts to set. I look at him as he is staring at the beautiful scene.

"Best date ever," I say to him, bumping his shoulder lightly.

He is slightly taken aback by this but eventually just rolls his eyes.

"And you know what makes it even more beautiful?" I ask, he cocks an eyebrow at me.

"You," I say ginning a cheesy grin and I lean over to give him a small kiss.

Instead he pulls my collar and we have a full on kiss. He pulls away but puts his hand in my face, caressing my cheek.

"You're a dork," he says, enduringly.

"I love you, too," I say cheekily.

He just smirks and we lay there together watching the sunset.
