When I had awaken I still couldn't open my eyes. They felt like they were glued shut and the world around me was moving on without me.
I thought I had chose death so I looked for a disappointed Moon Goddess. I never found one. Instead her words floated to my mind.
"Chose wisely."
My eyes opened with a snap and I gasped.
I could breath. Oh thank goodness I could breath. I COULD BREATH!
I took in my surroundings and found they I was in a dark room. I was alone on a bed that was big but not quit that big. It looked to be a hospital bed.
The walls were painted a calming gray. I felt safe but I heard voices just outside the small wooden door. I almost instantly recognized Luke's voice. The other was a small female voice.
"But Lukie. You can't. She's just another play toy. She will never make a great Luna like me," the small high pitch female voice whined.
"No! Don't ever come near her again. If I see you even lay a deadly glance at her you will be banished from this pack," Luke told the female calmly.
The door was opened and shut gently. Thank goodness for super eye sight or I would not be able to see Luke as he stepped in.
I shut my eyes and leveled my breathing. I had learned over the years to control my breath and appearance to deceive another that I am asleep. I knew like would fall for it but I was just happy to be alive.
"I know your awake, Lynne," I heard Luke whisper in the dark.
I opened my eyes. My act was up. Besides I needed to talk. I knew like thought I was still wanting to keep rogue but I thank I may stay. Or convince Luke to leave with me.
"Luke," I sighed. "We need to talk. About everything."
"Lynne I know you are afraid. And I am too. But I'll be here do type just stay strong. You don't have to run. You can build a life with me. I'm not saying it will happen right away but you can became part of this pack," lie tried to convince me.
I needed to know if he had found a new beta. If so we could leave long enough to get my life in action. No need to have to give up his Alpha position as long as we came back within a year.
If an Alpha leaves it's pack for a year without return then the pack could be given up or the Beta will step up.
"Luke who is the new Beta?"I asked gently. I knew this was a sore subject.
"My third I'm command has stepped up and his son has replaced him. Why do you ask? Afraid I may make you take Beta position?" Luke asked with amusement.
'"No. Beta would be easy for me but I have a proposition for you. If this means our future together may thrive than I would like you to listen carefully and consider what I have to offer," I told Luke in a serious tone.
I hoped he would understand. And accept.
