"It's called 'paying attention in class'!" Jonathan whisper-raged at Tyler while Evan was trying to hold back laughter. Tyler rolled his eyes and started staring out the window.

"So! I'm pretty pleased with most of your projects...and not surprised how failed some of them are," mr. o'Doherty stared at Harley's old clique who only grinned at him innocently.

"But as you know, I like to pick favorites. And my biggest clap goes to...Evan and Jonathan!"

The whole class cheered as Jonathan raised an eyebrow at Evan.

"He picks out the best presentation and gives them an extra grade," Evan explained.

"...That's stupid," Jonathan looked back at the front of the class.

The bell rang 5 seconds after the applauding.

"To lunch you go!" the teacher extended his hand to the door.

Jonathan sighed quietly as they stood up, waiting for everyone else who were seated further in the back of the class, and walked to the cafeteria.

"So yeah, Friday. Be prepared," David gave everyone a jokingly creepy stare as Lui started giggling next to him.

Evan eyed Jonathan as he rubbed his mask to scratch his face. He had been very quiet and somehow negative the whole day.

"Jon."

"What?"

"You okay?"

"You need to stop asking me that," Jonathan huffed and inched forwards in the big line.

"I know, but you seem more not okay than normal today. Did something happen?"

"No. I'm just having a bad day, I guess..."

"And that's what we're here for!" Lui grinned at him.

Jonathan gave a slight smile, raising up his mask, and then turned around again, quickly adjusting it down again.

Craig elbowed Evan. Evan looked at him.

"You're gonna take care of him or whatever his problem is during free period, right?"

Evan smiled and nodded. Craig smiled back.

It was free period time for Evan, Jonathan, Brock and Brian. Terroriser and Moo said they were going to work on their Physics stuff in the library so the two were left alone. And they basically hated being alone with just each other by now,

Everything turned out awkward in those situations.

The two sat down on the bleachers around the huge field at the back of the school.

Evan looked at Jonathan. He looked as grave as ever, checking something on his phone.

Jonathan peeked at him as Evan didn't notice, still staring. He sighed and looked up, "What?"

"I'm not sure if you're just having a bad day..."

"I'm fine. But are you fine? Got a hold with that...family thing of yours?"

Evan's eyes widened slightly but then he smiled at him, "Yup. Don't need to worry about me!"

"But I am."

Evan's smile faded as Jonathan looked at him with glazed blue eyes. After a few seconds he looked down to his phone again, scrolling something and then putting his phone away.

'This is exactly what Charlotte was talking about. I gotta make him open up somehow. But how?' Evan thought, staring at a soccer goal post on the field.
