The door swung open. As they entered , dust seemed to fill every open space.
"It's dark in here." Delaney stated, though it was obvious.
Carter took out his phone and shined a flashlight. In the band of light blazing through the air, dust particles danced in all directions. The tunnel scanned the walls, racing the flakes.
The light beam stops.
"Ah, a light switch " Carter sighs, shortly followed by a cough.
he flips the switch, turning the darkness into a glaring bulb.
The brighness was hard their eyes that had adjusted to the night.

The lights flickerd as the two tried to keep their eyelids from sheltering them.

Delaney looked around the room. Ot was plasterd with tat designs and rock band posters. Her imagination almost made her believe Screamo music was blasting through the dead end speakers.

Her eyes set on a big black reclining chair , where the tatoos were done.
She sat herself down with a humph.
Carter made his way to the stool.

"So, what'll it be missy?" He says in a foggy voice.
Delaney giggles.

"I don't know, what do you recomend?" she say playing along.

"I got one REAL special, just for you." He turns on the Ink machine, which surprisingly still worked .

She clenched her eyes shut, even though she was sure Carter was only doing this to scare her, her hands gripped the arm rest of the seat.

When it felt tip first touched down on skin, she let out a sqeal.
The gliding on her hand wasn't at all pain.

Delaney opend her eyes.
Carter was holding a Sharpie marker.

She looked down at her wrist where her new ink was printed.
Carter had drawn a small simple heart.

Delaney laughed and puched Carter softly in the shoulder.

" Dude! That scared me!" She says grinning.

Carter throughs back his head laughing.
"Sorry if the lines are messed up, you were shaking alot!"

The sounds of laghter fill the tatoo parlour.

Delaney glances at the little heart. It was small, and uneven. Carter was no artist- but she still liked it. The heart seemed to mean something to Carter, in way to him it was more than just a tatoo. Delaney just didn't know in what sence, yet.

Suddenly they heard a boom.

"Hey! who's in here?" A man's voice yelled.

Delaney heard Carter cuss under his breath.

She jumps up from her seat and puts her back up against the wall.
Her heartbeat picks up.
Everything goes silent.

"Hey! I knowyou're in here!"

Delaney tries to make her breath as quiet as possible, but seems to do the opposite.

They hear footsteps aproaching closer.

"Run!" Carter yells, and the two shoot off.
They run past the man without a second glance, no visual detected.
He yells at the as they run past, to stop.
But their feet continue to carry them. Carry them out of the parlor, out of the strip mall, they kept running on the sidewalk.
Nobody was chasing them.
They just wanted to run.
