The Demo

Troye POV

"I'm really happy with how this turned out, you know. I can't wait to go in and do the final recording" I told Emma, while she was playing, on her laptop, the demo of the new song that I wrote.

"Yeah, It's amazing and we don't have to go in until tomorrow" she said from behind the screen "You can just go out today and reunite with people that you've not met for a while and I can go shopping with some friends."

I knew what she was hinting at. I knew exactly what 'people' meant.

Connor.

God, I miss him. I miss him so much.

I know I did wrong. I know he didn't deserve it and I know that I was being irrational and rude and just stupid.

And I know that I should've picked up the phone when he called and I should've just gone to his house and talked to him instead of going to that trail, whenever I get free, which led to the beautiful lake, where we had our first date.

"Yeah, I think I'll go out" I told Emma.

"To the lake?" She said "Troye.. Just call him, talk to him. I'm sure everything will be back to normal once you do"

"I'm not going to the lake, Emma. I'm gonna hang with Zoe. She's in town and I really wanna see her"

After Zoe called me the other day, I realised how unknowingly rude I'd been to her, I apologised and we've been texting since.

I promised her I'd meet her whenever I could.

"That's good. You need to hang out with you're friends, it's better than being alone" she said shutting her laptop and getting up "you call her and I've to go. See you"

"So, tell me more, how have you been, Troye?"

Zoe and I were now back in my BnB, casually lounging on the sofa's, after we had our fair share of eating and moving around LA.

Emma was still out with her friends and supposed to be back soon, so for now it was just me and Zoe.

"I've been good, just a little worked up these days" I replied.

"Yeah, Connor told me you've been busy. Stop being so hard on yourself, Troye."

"Connor? What did he say?" I sat up at his being called. I realised I shouldn't be so responsive when it comes to him.

Zoe knew about Connor's guy but she had no idea it's me and I should keep it that way.

There may be a reason why he kept me a secret.

"Nothing, he just said you've been busy lately. That's all."

Luckily, she was so invested in her phone that she did not pay attention to my sitting up with wide eyes.

*sigh*

Obviously, he thinks I'm busy and working too hard.

I leaned back into the sofa and returned to my previous relaxed position.

"Yeah, writing has been hard on me this time. I did not struggle this hard with writing during TRXYE, but finally I've got some demo's and I've actually got a song that I like and I'll be doing the final recording tomorrow" I said "do you wanna listen to it?"

"Really? Like, you don't mind?" She asked.

"Obviously!" I said.
