"Are you sure you have to leave so soon, Harper? I mean, after what just happened...." Matsuda trailed off. L and I had to leave the day after Light's death, and none of them were too happy about it.

"We can't spare a moment," I shrugged sadly. "We still have another hour here, though."

"Yeah, but...."

Mogi cut in, "What about the Death Notes? Don't you need to take care of those?"

I answered, "We already burned them. You won't be bothered by them anymore." Since none of us had written in the notebooks while being the owner of it, we all kept our memory. The only person who didn't was Misa, who completely forgot that she was the second Kira again with no chance of ever remembering. Because of this, we had to release her. I was upset she wouldn't be getting what she deserved, but maybe that punishment was Light's death.

"I don't know if I'll get the chance to see you again before I leave, so thank you all so much for working with us. It was great. Tell the Chief that when you see him for me, would you?" I asked. Aizawa, Matsuda, and Mogi nodded. Matsuda hugged me one last time before I went off to the investigation room to meet with L.

While I was walking down the hall to the room, I ran into Yagami. "Oh, Chief Yagami! I was wondering if I was going to get the chance to see you today," I said.

"I was just talking to L for a few minutes. I thought you might be in there as well, so I was going to look for you."

"Did he tell you about the report?" I frowned.

He nodded, "Yes." We had felt it best not to leave anything out of the report to the ICPO, so we included the Shinigamis and Death Notes. Unfortunately, they thought we were lying. Still, they didn't mind much with the claim of Kira being dead, so we didn't have to deal with an argument about the subject of the supernatural occurrences. "As long as they know Kira won't be killing anymore, they should remain happy."

"You're right. And how are you and your family taking everything?" I wondered cautiously.

"They will never know what my son did, but they are upset that Kira killed him. We all are. We'll be alright, though," Yagami assured me.

I apologized, "I'm very sorry for what has happened. But I wanted to tell you that I'm very happy to have worked with you on this case. You're a great police chief, and they are all very lucky to have you. Thank you for staying with us until the end."

Yagami smiled, "It was my pleasure. I never would have imagined I would be working with the world's two greatest detectives. Stay safe, H."

I responded, "Of course." He began to walk away, but something began to bother me. I called to him, "You know my name is Harper, right?"

He turned back to me, a little confused by my question, "Yes."
