Thanks to Aiber's supreme acting skills, Yotsuba had decided to contract him as their private investigator, thus giving us all the information we needed to continue with Wedy's part of the plan. The only down side to that was her being unhappy about the lacking difficulty. We had really prepared her for a challenge, and I was surprised by how low their security was. Still, the surveillance cameras and wiretaps had been set in place. That was all we needed.

"It's been about a week since I first snuck into the place. It looks like things have been running pretty smoothly since then, huh?" Matsuda asked excitedly as we watched the Yotsuba members settle into their seats on the screen.

I licked the cream cheese frosting off my red velvet cupcake, "Definitely."

Light said, "We've almost got them."

"So," L ate a truffle, "one of these people is Kira."

Takeshi Ooi, the Vice President of VT Enterprises, announced, "Well then, now that everyone's here, let's commence a regular meeting."

I raised an eyebrow as Yagami noticed as well, "But if there's supposed to be eight, why are there only seven?"

Light trailed off, "That must mean that...."

L told them, "They probably killed one of their members."

I nodded, "Most likely, he went against what Kira wanted or tried to back out. You can tell because they let his chair remain there. It's like a warning or threat, saying if they do anything wrong, they'll be next." I took a bite of the cupcake.

"In order to further the growth of the Yotsuba Group and best serve its financial interests, who should we kill next?" Ooi continued. The others gasped.

"You see? It's just like I told you last week!"

I swallowed the dessert and frowned. They weren't even going to take a week off after having Matsuda's incident. They just didn't care. Not only did they think they were invincible, but they were willing to risk everything no matter what. If the pattern continued, and we couldn't find a way to stop them, there were going to be a lot more deaths on our hands....

"But before we get to that, there are several topics that we need to discuss. First, there is the issue of Hatori's death," Ooi backtracked. Oh, so that's who's missing, I thought. I couldn't remember him well from the "reception" the week before.

Reiji Namikawa, Vice President of Sales, spoke up, "That was unavoidable. To be honest, in a certain sense, I'm relieved that Hatori's dead. Kira has demonstrated that we must be committed to these meetings. We now know what will happen if we try to leave." I smiled at the confirmation of me being right. I took another bite.

Ooi nodded in agreement, "I think we all understand what Hatori's death means for the rest of us. Let's not take it lightly. Now, moving on. Our next topic is Eraldo Coil's report." Everyone picked up the papers in front of them. I let Aiber write the report and told him what to include, and he had done extremely well. I didn't have any revisions when he was done with it.
