Humdinger paced back and forth in front of an army of guards. "This building is on lockdown!" he fumed. "No one, and I mean, no one, comes in or out. You will find the boy. I want him no matter what."

"Sir," a guard said. "Does that mean-"

"Yes," Humdinger glared. "Dead or alive." The guards nodded, heading out into the corridors. Ryder gulped, watching everything from the vent above. How am I going to get out of here?

"Pups," Chase said through his earpiece. The hospital was coming up fast as they raced towards it. They notified local law enforcement of their plans as backup. "You know what to do."

"Right," the pups said. Rocky and Skye landed on the roof while the others stayed hidden.

"Katie," Rocky said. "You've got the virus ready?"

"Roger that," Katie said. She was back at the Lookout, monitoring everything, making sure Ryder's rescue went as smoothly as possible. "Ready when you are."

Rocky pried open a hatch, slowly descending down through the air vents. From here, he needed to find the security system. "How's it lookin', Rocky?" Marshall asked.

Rocky jumped as Marshall's voice echoed throughout the shaft. He stayed put for a few seconds, waiting to see what would happen. When nothing did, he turned the volume down on his earpiece. "Give me some time. I don't think I'm in the basement yet."

"You're not," Katie said. "According to the map, you're just above it."

Rocky crawled along the vent shaft, careful not to make any noise. As he turned the corner, he nearly screamed. "Chase, you scared me! What're you doing here? Where's your gear?"

The brown pup smiled, stomping on the shaft. The vent opened, hands grabbing for Rocky's paws. "Abort the mission! Abort the mission!" Rocky yelled, running back to Skye.

"What's going on?" Chase yelled. The pups were on edge, ready to race in.

"They knew we were coming! I'm being chased by-" The communication was cut.

"Rocky!" Marshall yelled. "Katie, can you still track him?"

"On it! He's headed up the shaft now. Skye, get ready to pull him out!"

"Right!" Skye started her chopper and hovered just above the hospital. "Send me the tracker so I know when to pull him out." The tracking system appeared on Skye's console. "He stopped a few feet away. He's headed back inside. No, now he's... he's under me!" Skye sent down her harness, hoping Rocky could grab onto it.

"Skye?" Marshall said.

"I've got something!" Skye flew straight up, pulling the harness up with her.

Chase used his binoculars, watching the entire scene unfold. "She's got him! Let's go! Katie, we're coming back! We're aborting the mission."

Rocky panicked as he swung on the harness, desperately trying to fasten it on properly. Skye flew in front of the pups, leading them back home. "Skye, meet us at the lake. We'll check on Rocky and regroup." Marshall said. The pups nodded, knowing this plan was ruined.

"Ugh!" Katie groaned, kicking the desk. "We were so close!"

"Ahh!" Rocky yelled as he was set down. The pups surrounded him, making room from Marshall. Rocky was scraped up, his fur stained with red. He was also limping.

"Lay down, Rocky," Marshall said. He started cleaning the worst of the bites and scrapes. "What happened?"

"Clone," Rocky panted. "I thought it was Chase, but he didn't have his uniform. He started stomping on the shaft and the vents opened. Guards tried grabbing me, but I escaped. The clone tackled me and we started wrestling- Ahh!"
