Silo and Alpha stared at the compound, eyeing every possible entry point. Security had been lowered since that fateful day one month ago. In fact, there were no security guards outside. "What do you think, Alpha?"

"I'm not entirely sure. It's risky "

"But worth it." The Alpha nodded. Slowly, they trotted out of the woods, cautiously looking around them. Everything was quiet. Making their way towards the back, they spotted a vent. Silo, using his claws, pried it open. The two wolves scampered inside. The shaft split in three directions.

"You find your friends," the Alpha commanded. "I'll find the pack." Silo nodded, heading right. The Alpha went left.

Duey made his way around the room, ignoring the foul odors of his fallen clone comrades. He was a peculiar clone, having his own mindset and outlook on life. He wanted freedom. He wanted to be outside.

He wanted to be normal.

Unfortunately for him, he could never be normal. He was a Chase-clone. He looked and (somewhat) acted like Chase. But, he wouldn't let that stop him. He trusted Rubble, and if Rubble trusted Ryder, then he would too.

As he inhaled the scents, he noticed a few distinct ones. Ones that were not of clones, but of actual pups. He trotted up to one said scent. The pup looked gray and near lifeless. As he neared, he noticed the scent was unlike any of the clones. Smiling, he bit down on the scruff and dragged him back towards Ryder.

"Rocky..." he stated sadly. He pulled him close, embracing him in his arms. "Great job, Duey." He pat the clone on the head.

Duey panted happily. "Two down, four to go." With that, he returned to his search. Ryder noticed that Rocky's collar was still attached.

"Duey, wait. I might be able to help you." Ryder pushed the tag manually. It lit up. Light glowed from a few spots around the room. Smiling, Ryder told Duey to go to those spots and bring his pups. "We're getting out of here, one way or another.

"Humdinger, sir?" a scientist said. "There's something you need to see."

"Is everything alright?"

"Everything is going to plan, sir, but..." He pointed to a jar containing Rubble's pup tag. They had found it discarded in the vents. It had been activated.

"How is this possible?" Humdinger fumed.

"We don't-"

"I thought they were disposed of!"

"They were, along with the clones!"

Humdinger groaned, grabbing the shoulders. "You imbecile! They aren't clones! That poison will only render them unconscious!"

"But, sir, it was your order to use it."

"Why did you listen to me? I said dispose!" Humdinger shoved him back. The scientist stumbled against the wall. "You stupid, idiotic, waste of my time." He grabbed a random syringe and injected it into his arm. "I wonder what this will do?" The scientists head slumped. Humdinger felt for his pulse.

There wasn't one.

"Dispose of him," he ordered. "Permanently." He took Rubble's collar from the jar and held it in his hands. Holding it up to his face, he said "If I find you or your pups anywhere in this compound, you will be killed." He crushed the collar in his hands. "Back to work! Clones, search the area."
