Ryder carefully picked Chase up, trying not to wake him up. He carried him, quietly tiptoeing, towards his room, closing the door gently behind him. The pup stirred in his arms. "Ryder?" he said.
"Chase," Ryder said, placing him on the bed next to Marshall. Chase's ears perked up as he noted the scent in the room: fear. "I've got something very important to tell you both."
"What's going on?" Chase asked as he sat up. He turned to look at Marshall, who looked equally as nervous, tail underneath him and all. "Why are you two so nervous?"
"I got a call," Ryder said. "It was Humdinger."
"Hum-" Chase nearly yelled. Marshall covered his muzzle.
"Shh, we don't want to wake the other pups. Yes, he called me."
"But, how? I thought that line was secure?" Marshall said.
"So did I. Apparently, he knows my cover and everything. I'm worried he knows where we are."
Chase growled. "He isn't going to find us." He hopped down from the bed and started walking to the door. "I'll find him first and rip him limb from limb. I'll make sure he never hurts anyone ever again. I'll-" Ryder picked up the fuming pup, placing him back on the bed again.
"I know you're angry, but, as much as it feels right, revenge isn't the answer. We have to play this safe."
"But, we can't keep running away!" Marshall said. "We have to fight back. It's the only way to stop him."
"Marshall's right. We need to do something."
"I agree. Which is why we're going back to Adventure Bay."
"WHAT?!" both pups yelled. They covered each other's muzzle before giggling at each other.
"Yes," Ryder chuckled. "I've been working on something with Katie and the Mayor since we've been gone. A plan."
"Well, what is it?" Chase asked.
"Yeah!" Marshall said, getting excited.
"I can't tell you yet, but know that you're both going to be in charge. Can you both handle that?"
Marshall and Chase looked at each other. They saluted Ryder and said "No job is too big, no pup is too small!"
"That's my pups," Ryder said, petting both of them. "Listen, it's getting late. We should all get some sleep."
"When do we leave?" Marshall asked, yawning.
"I have to take care of a few things, so next week at the earliest. We'll tell the other pups in the morning."
"Ryder?" Chase asked. "Can- can we sleep here tonight?" He looked at Ryder with his big brown eyes, whining ever so slightly. Marshall did the same with his aqua blue eyes, rubbing his paw against Ryder's chest.
Ryder giggled. "Of course you can." Both pups quickly cuddled up to him on the blankets, Chase on his right and Marshall on his left. "Goodnight, pups."
"Goodnight, Ryder," they both said. Ryder turned off the light, yawning one last time before drifting off to sleep.

Preparations were underway as Ryder and the pups packed their things. "I wonder if anything's changed back in Adventure Bay," Zuma said.
"Well, it's only been three months," Rocky said.
"Mayor Goodway is on her way, pups," Ryder declared. "Make sure you've got all your things."
"I still can't believe we're going back," Skye said. "Especially after everything that's happened."
